Window Treatments....(again)

I do not have an 'eye' for window treatments..I need ideas and your input-please...

I have a combo dining room/living room w/ hardwood floors....ivory walls, which i want to paint, but that is a different post....

I want to hang the same color sheer curtains that will be in our den (great room) in our living room/dining room. Will that color (the goldish color) be tooo much since it will be throughout the house? The kitchen is int between these rooms so that breaks it up.
Before I go out and buy 12 window panels in this color, I am looking for your input.
