So I am leaning toward Windows on the Lake for my RH and Ceremony but I am concerned about the traffic during the ceremony. There is a road in between the hall and ceremony site and when I went to visit, I noticed a lot of cars go by. The one thing holding me back is the car traffic. I don't want to hear a lot of cars interrupting the ceremony... (Sunday around 5:30-6pm).
Has any other brides experienced this? Any other pros/cons about Windows on the Lake? thanks!

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
Yeah it seems to me there could def be noise. it's not that far off the main road. It may be less if you did the ceremony across on the water, but def in the gazebo I think you'd hear it. Also depends A LOT on th time of day. Friday night in rush hour would be noisier than a Sunday day.

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
The ceremony is by the water, My cousin got married there last Sept.
Yes you can hear the traffic but if thats where you feel its your perfect place dont worry about it.

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
We got married inside but took alot of pics outside. I'd say it was between 4-6pm that we were outside. There were cars that passed but it wasn't noisy at all. There is no light in the vicinity so the cars just keep going.

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
I live right near my whole life and from personal experience that direct road is not that busy but i do agree that depending on the day it may be busy, portion road which is the main road is busy. With this being said i dont think it should be a concern. Its nice there when ceramonys take place.

I feel like everyone will be so focused on the ceremony, that if there is some light traffic, no one is going to notice.

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
I checked this place out and really liked the room. I thought their pricing was very misleading tho. Anyway...FH didn't like the whole busy road thing, so we passed on it. that and he hates mosquitos...while there of course he gets bit by one. NICE. Did you look at their other place...BEach Club Estate... larger bridal suite, nicer grouds, no busy road to worry about and literally on the lake. Smaller in size and dancefloor, so it depends on how large your guest list is.
Good Luck!

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
I did see the Beach Club Estate. I didn't like it as much because the dance floor was so small and the room was very small. Though we do have a small party (100+), we are ballroom dancers so the floor space is extremely important. I didn't think the Windows on the Lake quote was too bad (they quoted us 70pp for an Oct Sunday 2010). Venue hunting is very frustrating and trying... sigh.

The inside ceremony was in the room right next to the main hall. I thought it was a little strange because you have to walk through the main banquet room to get to it. The room was fairly nice though - lots of windows over looking the water.

I had my ceremony in the reception room (with the blue sky ceiling). The cocktail hour in the other room (with the bar). They changed over the reception room while everyone was in the cocktail hour. Worked out fine.
Their prices are very reasonable. They even have packages.

Re: Windows on the Lake Ceremony Traffic?!?!
Sometimes i think it could be noisy over there, as portion road is right there but for your time i think it would be ok. Went with my brother and SIL there, the room was beautiful but the guy we dealt with was a sleeze bag. He called me cutie when i first walked in! He kept trying to show off his pinky ring and bracelet. My brother would have booked there but the guy was way to cocky, and the prices were misleading. It wound up being more than expected. He just booked at sunset harbour instead, and got chair covers for free and a mini vienese for free. Sorry if i upset anyone. Just letting you know our experience.
Good news is he told us everything is getting redone, the dance floor the old carpeting. Not sure if it would be totally completed by your day but it def needed a new carpet.
