I was wondering who thinks that a bottle of wine per family, plus a set of wine charms and/or coasters with a wine theme on them is a nice favor? Would you be happy getting this? Would you think it's cheap-y?
I was thinking that it would be so pretty to wrap them in a cellophane bag, lined with pale pink tissue paper, tied with a ribbon with our name and wedding date and a little rose tie-thingy to hold it on the top of the bag/neck of the bottle. I also saw organza bags that are really pretty too and was thinking that's a good idea as well.
What do you think???

I think that is an amazing favor, that is a great idea, i like the whole theme, i know alot of people use the wine bottle stoppers, the ones with the rubber on them, they work really well. And the coasters and wine charms are great too!!!!

Re: Wine as a favor...yay or nay?
My brother gave wine as a favor at his wedding, and I remember thinking it was the best favor ever, haha. Honestly, whenever I go to weddings, I always end up coming home with these favors which are cute, but I barely or never use them, and they just end up taking up space. The wine is awesome cause you can drink it, and then it's gone!

I think wine as a favor is a great idea. No way is that cheap and if you do your research you could find a liquor store that you could order from at cost. I'd be a happy guest leaving your wedding!!!

Thanks....I was thinking that if I do wine, then I can suggest to my mom to do the wine stopper with a heart or something at the top with either wine charms or a set of 4 coasters I found with a wine theme on them...at least guests will get the stopper and coasters at the shower and then the wine for the wedding.
Have you decided what you are doing yet?

I'm glad to hear so far that you all think this is a good idea! I see 2 that said no and I always wish that the people who say no tell why....if you are reading this, please let me know why! That's the point of asking for opinions lol I don't get offended when I ask for opinions lol

We gave full sized bottles of Pindar Winter White as the favor at our wedding, everyone seemed to love it!

This was actually FH's idea lol I'm playing around with the idea of it. I just want to make sure we are giving our guests enough to thank them for spending our day with us and presumably, giving us a generous gift. I

Very pretty! I'd use a light pink bag with ivory tags with our names/date, sealed with one of those small silver colored twisty-ties (or pink, not sure...still playing around with this concept). Was it hard to put the labels on the bottles?

Not sure how much you are looking to spend, but you should go around to many liquor stores and tell them you will be buying in bulk....they probably will work with you. Just think, if you go pick them up (even if it takes a few trips), you'll save the money you would've spent on shipping elsewhere. The labels/ties for the bottles are inexpensive..think about it since you really want it!

I was thinking about doing that! It goes with my classical almost roman theme (think wine flowing & goddess gowns). & It is something that will not hold an indefinite time on someone's shelf b/c they are bound to hopefully drink it! At Least that is what i hope.

You can also make personalized wine labels to stick on as a little something extra to personalize it. Just an idea!
I would def like to get wine as a favor :)
