Wine drinkers please help

Wine drinkers please help

I would like to do wine favors...one per couple but I'm not a big wine drinker (still a newbie). Can you tell me what is your favorite wine (not too expensive). I'm also making a donation.

Are you looking for whole bottles or splits?

For whole bottles, Pindar is very inexpensive. White wine would be Winter White or Autumn Gold...I prefer Autumn Gold. Blushes are Spring Splender and Summer Blush...they're very, very similar, but the Blush is a bit more full. There's also red table wine, but I'm not sure of them names because I only drink Yellow Tail Shiraz for red, which is also inexpensive, but a little more than the Pindar.

If you're looking for splits, the Sutter Home are very reasonable.

I love all the wines by Lenz Vineyard They are local to LI. Maybe you could go for a tasting and figure out which one you and your FH like the best.
I've used this as a favor at an event once and everyone loved the wine! I did both red and white.

I know, I know, it's almost embarassing. It definitely makes me sound like more of a lush than I really am...to my credit, I did work in an Italian restaurant for almost 5 years, and I spend a lot of time out east at the wineries.

Back to the subject at hand LOL, there's also Pugliese vineyards which is very reasonable...and Martha Clara has a lot of reasonable ones too. It really all depends on your preferred price range and preferred grape.

For inexpesnive:

Yellow Tail Merlot is good.

Santa Margarita White Zinfindel is good.

Blackstone is good too. It's a red one- not sure if it's a merlot or a shiraz.

Um, there is also this one, Gato Negro. I personally don't like it but everyone I know who likes more expensive wines likes this stuff and it's only 4.99 at my local liquor store!

I would go to a bunch of different liquor stores...They can tell you what would be the best for your buck. Blackstone is a decent Merlot. I am using Bogle and is a bit more expensive but I am buying stright from the distributor.

I had thought about Pindar winter white but for a spring wedding dint think it was right. I am not a fan of Blush/white Zins.....I feel like there are much better wines out there for the $. I also found that the small bottles arent much cheaper than the full bottles unless you get 'cheap wine'

Yellowtail is good. It's the only 'cheaper' wine that doesn't make me sick!

Well I would love to spend about $5/bottle. I like white wine, red wine knocks me out lol. I know alot of my guests are wine drinkers so I guess I would like the best wine for the money. I just don't know the difference between cheap and expensive wine.

Opici is good. Inexpensive. My Pepa always said it's the closest to homeade that you'll get. (He used to make wine) Also Yellow Tail is good.

You're probably going to have to stick with Pindar if that's the case...sometimes it's cheaper if you buy from them directly, or by the case from a local liquor store. I don't know where you're located, but I know that Grape Culture in St. James has awesome case discounts and they have coupons too.

I just called Pindar...The autum gold and summer blush are $9.99/bottle and theres a 25% discount available.
