Wine favor

Anybody like Mondavi wine?? I went to the vineyard years ago but I don't remember if I liked teh wine or not. probably was my fourth stop in napa LOL

FH wants to give a bottle of cabernet souv. or a private reserve. he got two bottles to try, but i'm not a big fan of cabernet. I think most ppl are though, right? it's a lot less than the private reserve. any suggestions?

looking forward to the tasting

I like it. What about going with a pinot grigio? I know many people like that.

I like white too. I'll ask FH what they had for whites. He insists on doing this project himself i'll sit this one out LOL!

I think a Merlot or Pinot Nior is something that all would like because they are a medium bodied wine. Even a Chianti. Cab is a little strong for people who don't drink wine all the time.

You should check out Cappy's in Valley Stream. They will give you the best price. Allison has been helping me and she searched high and low with different distributors. I'm sure she works with the Mondavi folks and can give you some ideas!!! HTH

Mondavi is a nice wine. That was one of two bottles I bought my boss one year for Christmas.

I was going to mention the same thing. A merlot is always a 'safe' red to go with, when you're not sure what people like.....

Thanks so much for the help!! I didn't realize merlot was a bit more mellow. i'm more of a shiraz fan. i like the sweeter wines. I'll look into the pinot nior too.

Thanks so much for the info. I'll send it over to FH and see what they can offer us.

Allison at Cappy's got me a $10.00 bottle of wine for $4.50!!! She's fantastic. Tell her Cindy sent you. It's right on Merrick Road between Lynbrook and Valley Stream.
I sent snwb08 there and she had a great experience as well!!

Good Luck Stephanie!!!

Re: Wine favor

I prefer a Shiraz myself. My taste changes. I went from liking a Red Zinfindel (Berringer) to Merlot. Actually, my FH had a glass of Berringer's Merlot the other night, and I have to say, I really liked it...it was really smooth, not heavy...to me at least. It's always nice to try something different too. I never really drank Cabernet either, but I like that sometimes too now.

That's my liquor store! They definitely have the best prices around. When you buy cases you get an even better deal.
