I'm thinking about doing wine favors but I'm not sure where to put them. I'm afraid placing them on the table may make the table very crowded but then having them on a side table and handing them out at the end of the night seems like it may take a while... although I guess we'd be saying goodbye to people anyway. Has anyone heard of the staff at the reception hall placing favors on the tables after dessert has been served? What do you think is best?
I recently attended in a wedding in October and they gave out wine bottles as their favors. They had a separate table setup behind the bride and groom, and the dj made an announcement that as you said good bye to the bride and groom to take a bottle of wine with you. It seemed liked it worked out well. HTH.
I'm doing wine favors as well. I think having them on the table may make it too crowded so I'm either going to have them handed out as guests leave or put on a separate table and placed on the tables while my guests are up getting dessert.
In addition to our donations, I gave a small bottle of wine which I put on the table b/c they didnt take up too much space. But if you are doing large bottles, I would put them on a seperate table, they would probably get in the way.

just be careful when doing wine favors and putting them on the table from the beginning... I was at a wedding where the bride and groom did this, and as the night went on the favors 'disappeared' because some of their underage guests wanted to get drunk and wouldnt get served at the bar, so they took it upon themselves to drink a lot of other peoples favor....

We had the hall put the favors (chocolate truffles) on the table after dessert was served because we were thinking the exact same thing. The only suggestion I have is to have the dj or band make an announcement what is being done because a lot of people I found out later didn't take the favors. Also, some people thought that they were there to eat right then and opened them and starting eating them for dessert at the reception. HTH
