WINE Question!
FH and I are going out to a steakhouse tonight. I'm a white wine drinker but I really want to drink a nice red with my steak. The problem is that some red wines are so dry and woodsey that they literarlly turn my stomach!! Can anyone recommend a good fruity sweet red wine that goes down smoothly? and that they might serve at a nice steakhouse? Thanks!!!

Re: WINE Question!
Your best bet is to ask the waiter for a suggestion. It's hard to recommend a wine w/o knowing what's on the list. For instance, every Cabernet Sauvignon will taste slightly different, so some might be drier and others sweeter.

Re: WINE Question!
I am not a red wine drinker, I love white. My best is a nice Chianti.

Re: WINE Question!
I am with you...a White wine person, but I like certain semi-dry reds like a Chianti, Beaujoulis, Malbec and Syrah. But all wines are not created equal. Try ones that have not been stored in oak barrels to avoid that oaky, smokey taste you don't like. the sommelier should be able to recommend a perfect one for you to compliment your meal.

Re: WINE Question!
I'm feel the same way---and I get the worst red wine headaches. Someone suggested Pinot Noir to me and I LOVE IT
Its not heavy and a little fruity. Its pretty pricy but there are some good inexpensive brands that many restaurants carry such as Mark West.

Re: WINE Question!
Idk if this is too obvious, but some places have very nice Sangrias.

Re: WINE Question!
Just ask the server at the steak house. They really should know what goes with which steak.
