Wine Tasting

Has anybody been wine tasting out east?
What are good wineries to visit?
How much is the limo ride out there?
What is the average cost?
I'm looking into this information for a group of about 20, any information is helpful

We did it with a grou of about 15 people and it cost about $100 per person and that included lunch. The limo pretty much decides where to go but most of the places are very nice. It was a lot of fun, we have done it two years in a row.

Re: Wine Tasting

I can't really give much help on limos and rates, but I CAN give help on wine! Haha.

My favorite winery out east in Pugliese. It's one of the smaller ones, and it's the only one that uses white niagra grapes, which I'm partial to, because it's what my father grows. Their wine is very sweet, because it's the same grape that Welch's use for their juice. They have awesome blushes, sparkling, whites.

The nicest one to go to in terms of the actual tasting room is Osprey's Dominion. It's beautiful there. Their wine is OK...it's not the best, but defintiely not the worst.

Pindar is the staple, you have to at least try it.

Martha Clara is also really good, and they have a nice tasting room.

I did not like Bedell cellars, they were very rude to us and we were there waiting for about a half hour and were pretty much ignored, no one even came to help us. Raphael's is ok...I didn't like their wine. From the outside it's beautiful, but inside is kind of musty. Borghese is pretty good, but not a vast selection.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, I hope this helps!

I haven't gone out there in a large group, so I do not have any info on limos.

But great wineries to go to are:
Pindar
Raphael
Corey Creek
Pugliese Vineyards

You can slo try planning by looking at the map. MOst of them are within 2 miles of each other

Raphael is anything but musty..... I agree their wine isn't the best but that place is absolutely gorgeous... you should visit it just to see the place!

Pindar is great, and also, for me, Duck Walk holds a place in my heart because FH proposed and then whisked me away to Duck Walk and a B&B that night! So Duck Walk reminds me of when we got engaged!
