I spoke to Wine U Design tonight at the bridal show. Has anyone heard anything about them, I think it is such an interesting idea (helping to create the wine you will use as favors in your wedding). Anyone else talk to this vendor?

Yea the price was a little steep but I figured I would do one per couple instead of a bottle per person. Its definitely over what I budgeted for favors but I am so tempted....

I just thought it was crazy that it's an 11 month process. Pretty much have to decide right now if you want it

I loved the idea of you making your own wine as favors... FH and I are really looking into doing this. I know they have an open house this weekend that we are thinking of goin to to see how the wine and pace is. I can't wait so excited!!!!!

I would be looking at white wines so the process is only 4 months.

The man I spoke to said $11-14 a bottle. I told him my guest amount, he told me I'm looking at about $3,000. But I'm assuming that's a bottle each, but I would do per couple

Re: Wine U Design
My fiance's aunt and uncle bottled their own wine with this company. A bunch of their friends all did it together and split the cost so everyone walked away with about 3 cases of wine. They said it was a lot of fun and I got to taste the wine they made at Easter. I thought it came out great so I plan on attending their open house this weekend as well. FH and I will probably do it.

Re: Wine U Design
Just wanted to follow-up with more details from the Open House we attended on Saturday. FH and I were able to taste the Cabernat Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec. They encouraged us to mix some of the wines to taste different combinations. We ended up booked for a 50/50 Cab and Syrah blend. The $3000 is for 240 bottles and includes a party on the 'Bottling Day' with food and wine for us and our bridal party. The owners were really friendly and explained the whole process without making us feel pressured to buy.
I hope the info helps people considering it.

I also spoke to them about just the bottles.. They are $16 for 12 with a personalized label already on them! (Which is frikken awesome!) I'll most likely be using them to bottle my dad's wine!

Re: Wine U Design
Update: Last week we crushed our grapes and tonight we go back to press the wine and put it in our barrel! It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot about the wine making process. Our parents came to help, so it was a good bonding experience for everyone. After tonight, they handle everything for us pretty much until the wine is ready to be bottled next Winter (which my bridal party will be invited to help with).
It is pricier than I originally had in my budget for favors, but I am glad I went ahead and booked it. If you can afford to do it, I recommend it.
