I am not a big wine drinker but I need to get some wine for my e-party for this weekend. Any suggestions on white and red wine that are popular??

Well as far as what is most popular...usually for whites it's a chardonnay and red's is merlot or cabernet sauvignon. You could also offer a blush- white zinfandel is the most popular. As far as specific brands...let me know what your price range is. Barefoot wines cost about $6/bottle and I think they are great tasting. Good luck! Happy wine tasting!!!

Barefoot is GREAT!!! i used barefoot pinot grigio to give as favors for my e-party. It was in the paper as a great tasting wine that is very inexpensive but better tasting than alot of more expensive ones.
MY MOH who is BIG on wine and loves it, also gets yellow tail and likes it alot, and its inexpensive

I really don't have a price range.....i guess less then $10-12 a bottle.......I picked up a Beringer White Zinfandel and I believe I will get some merlot and Pinot.......I just don't have the taste for knowing whats good or bad and I don't want my guests not to enjoy it.

Re: WINE.....HELP
Now this may sound stupid but should I have real wine glasses for my guests to use or should I just use the platic ones....the party is outside....sort of bbq style. My family is italian so I know I have to have the wine and can't avoid it.....FH says use plastic but I would rather give them real wine glasses. ???

Yes - that's definitely the name of it! Before they found the white wine that they liked - my mom just went in there and asked for a good white...and they picked it and my brother (very picky taste) LOVED it. So even if you don't want to to with that one specific one maybe they can recommend another one...

If it's a bbq I think you can get away with using plastic glasses. Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn sell Duraclear-polycarbonate wine glasses and they are pretty nice. Might add up to a lot depending on the size of your guest list and how many of them drink wine. Good luck!!!

I have quite a few sets of simple wine glasses.....my guest list is only about 55 and not even half of them will drink the wine.....i think ill do the real ones....

i used the regular size, they gave it to me for a great price, plus i needed it right away within the same week lol and i would've had to wait for smaller bottles

Re: WINE.....HELP
Yellow Tail is AWESOME!!!!!! They have a really good red that is called Cabernet-Shiraz...(two wines combines) Can i tell you its amazing???!!!!
If its for your e-party...I would get:
Red- Merlot, Cabernet/Shiraz Whites-Pinot Grigio, White Zinfandel, Chardonnay.
Cavit is a good name brand for the whites and for the White Zinfandel--berringers is good.
Hope this helps you!
But Yellow tail---That is some good wine...not expensive either
