Wineries in the rain...

Sooo this Saturday was supposed to be my relaxing bachelorette party out at the vineyards. It seems Hanna will be passing through on Saturday now. We're still going b/c the tour company will charge us anyway. Someone wanna cheer me up and tell me how FUN the wineries can be in the rain??

Sorry...bummed.

Oh...I made some inquiries last weekend and a lot of bars out there are open for 2 more weeks. Any suggestions for Sat night?...I was hoping to spend the night just chilling by the pool with my ladies & some wine, but that seems out now...

Re: Wineries in the rain...

one day I was off work and DH and i were supposed to go to the water park. Welp- we started driving out there and it began to pour!! So we went to like 3 or 4 vineyards. And it was perfectly fine!!!! Yeah it is nice to get a bottle and sit outside, but they have great indoor atmospheres as well. So it is still just as fun! Also, another time we were spending the weekend with DH's family in montauk and it started to rain, so we went to a vineyard. All the tastings are done inside anyway. I dont think it will ruin your party if it rains!

ETA: the only drawback is that a lot of the parking lots are rocks or not paved, so don't wear flip flops.

OMG - you really will have a blast !!! All of the wineries have indoor facilities and that is where the 'tasting' is done.

Thanks ladies. It's just 'funny' b/c I've hosted 5 bachelorette parties out there for friends/family (we all like relaxing bach parties) and all of them were gorgeous, sunny, warm days...now that it's my turn...wellll....

OK I have to stop this pity party! We will still have fun!.....

My friends and I went wine tasting in the rain when we went to Ithaca, it was so much fun, the wineries had the fireplace going and it was nice and cozy. Plus drinking when its raining is really fun!

You'll have wine and your girls-that alone will be an amazing time! I think that's a great time to go to the wineries because it won't be so crowded. That reminds me of a time dh and I were driving to the ferry up to Boston in the one snowstorm we had this past winter... We ended up stopping at a few wineries out there to pick up wine for our trip. It was cool-there was no one there and I think they gave us like six tastings for the price of five. Maybe you'll get some perks like that! Cheer up!!!

It wasn't a huge hurricane storm, but I've been to a winery in the rain before. We hung out in a big tent, ate and drank a lot, and ventured outside during points where the rain let up. it was still fun although we didnt really tour the grounds because the ground was muddy and we werent dressed for it.

bring rain boots and get your drink on
