I lik Rueben and am happy for him, although I think it should hsve been Clay.

But they both have albums coming out the same week, according to Simon - he said that is how we will tell who the real winner is. So what does Rueben get out of being the American Idol, except the title?

I posted these two thoughts in other threads, and I guess I'll say it again here. I bet Ruben gets a more lucrative contract, and more publicity.
Also
You know, amazon has been selling their singles for the past few days, and Clay's has been #1. Ruben's was #48 yesterday, but today it's #4. So I say the real show will be whose album sells more, I can't wait to see.

awwww i wanted clay but i love ruben too--he was so cute he just laughed @ one point-like he couldn't believe it--that he won! i thought it was so cute that the moms were hugging. i think clay is a great guy, but he seemed a little not as happy for him as i thought---guess he wanted to win more than he let on! aww goooooooooooo ruuuuuuuuuben he's so cute! they'll both go far!

I wish Clay would have won. I still think that he will end up becoming a mega star though.

As far as him not looking happier for Ruben..hey he wanted to win too. I am sure that he was disappointed. I give him a lot of credit for the nice comments he made about Ruben at the end of the show. It was a good competition but I still think that Kelly was better then either Ruben or Clay.

I'm a huge Clay fan...although I love Ruben's voice also, I don't think I'd be interested in listening to an entire cd of him. He's too predictable. Clay mixes it up a little more. I do think they both deserved to win though....

HOWEVER, I thought about it and think that Clay, even though he coveted the title, will be better off in the long run without it. I think having the 'American Idol' title stamped on his forehead would be too limiting for him. I think if you can make it on your own you are in a better spot and are not bound by any 'AI' rules, and a limited audience. I already see Kelly Clarkson being too marketed with AI and i think in the long run it's going to harm her career. AI is very 'poppy' - and I think Clay can do better than that. AI gave him a foot in the door, and I think he'll take it further on his own than he would with the actual title.

I predict that Clay will be on Broadway in no time! He has a BROADWAY voice, I just see him as a Bway actor. He's top notch !

I also liked Ruben, but I liked Clay more!

I felt so bad for CLAY - I wanted him to win.... I prob. would've felt bad for Rueben though if he lost too! lol
Oh well, everyone of those finalists are going to be making major $$$$
