Re: winter brides...
we mainly choose a cold month because of money. we can put so much more money in other areas now. i wanted either dec or jan so the RH would still be decorated for the holidays and plus the church is decorated so I saved some money on flowers. also a lot of vendors give better deals during off season. i wouldn't be too concerned about the weather in december, most likely its not huge snow storms...just usually a flurry or two.

we love the cold, but we also save money having a winter wedding. We don't have a ton of out of town guests so we know even if there is a blizzard we will be fine

Re: winter brides...
we love the holidays - so we figured a holiday wedding would be perfect for us PLUS we saved a little bit of money - december isnt the cheapest out of the winter months though - so keep that in mind if you are looking to save more $....
we had a cold day - but we went outside for some pics and grinned and beared it
you can check out my review - we did a lot of winter things that didnt scream christmas
i LOVED my wedding and wouldnt have changed it for the spring/summer or fall - i thought our wedding was really unique and different compared to all the typical spring/summer/fall weddings we've been too!
we had a string trio play christmas music during the CH and we had egg nog & hot chocolate at the VH, it was cute little touches here and there that could only be done during christmas - but nothing that was over the top...
also the halls are all decorated so nice for the holidays!
good luck planning!

no real reason except winter is my favorite season plus no birthdays or other events for me & FH personally around those months.

Re: winter brides...
my FH wanted me to choose a date in Feb/march since thats when none of the sports he wants to watch is on (crazy i know, but who wants their FH concerned about sports and play offs on their HM). it kinda ended up working out because we both like the cold weather and the price was right everywhere..from the hall to all our vendors..we saved a lot of money.
yes there is a chance of bad weather but there's a chance of bad rain and hurricanes in other months as well. you cant control the weather so grin and bear it. if it snows you can have beautiful snowy pictures!

Re: winter brides...
We chose the winter for a few reasons, but mainly because we both hate the summer. haha. We love the cold and we're both horrible and whiny when we're in the heat. Also because we wanted to have our wedding close to our dating anniversary, and we have the bonus that the prices are way better in the winter. I know there's the possibility of bad weather but snowy pictures would be beautiful, and it could just as well pour on your wedding day if it's in the summer. No matter when the wedding is, you're taking a chance.

We chose the Winter because:
it was less expensive graduate in June & need some time to plan a wedding after graduation and didn't want to wait an entire year to get married Falls on a Holiday weekend so most people would have off

Re: winter brides...
We chose a february wedding because of money and the three day weekend. There are so many different themes you can do... winter wonderland, holidays, etc.

Re: winter brides...
I wanted a winter wonderland wedding (woah alliteration...) and December was the perfect time for that. Plus...I'm a snow globe maniac and I wanted a wedding where I could give them out as favors. I'm slightly concerned about the weather, but blizzard or shine, I'll have an amazing time!

Re: winter brides...
We chose a cold month (Feb) due to family schedules, my work schedule (I am least busy in the first two months of the year) and money. Our colors were wine/burgandy and a champagne type of color. Pics are in albums if you want ideas of flowers.
Oddly enough, the day was pretty nice and we were able to do some outdoors shots!

Re: winter brides...
The main reason was because it was cheaper to have it in Jan. I also didnt want it in the summer because i didnt want to sweat in my dress or mess up my make up

Re: winter brides...
FH and I lovee the winter...we were going to do a Nov wedding but bc of the price we changed it to March...money was def a big factor in the month we chose but we knew we would not go with a summer month bc he hatess the summer..he hates being hot lol...i also like march bc its def still cold but in march you have those days where its alil warmer so if we want we could go outside and take pics but there still is a chance of it snowing and i want flurries more than anything on my wedding day..so i figured march is perfect bc no matter how the weather is we could make sumthing good out of it...we love the snow and if its warmer out its not going to be to hot to be outside to take pics and if its cold..well we love the cold
