I am having a January wedding and saw these beautiful capes to wear over your dress..I love them but the ones at Davids Bridal I felt I could maybe do better and the ones at other salons I cant afford, so my mother said she would make me one...but now we cant find a good pattern..she said all she can find are the wrong styles...anyone else looked into this? Anyone with some good suggestions? I always get such good advice on here..I thought Id try this cape issue!!!! Thanks!!

I know my mom made my dad a cape for my sisters wedding...I don't know if there are different styles for males and females though...
I could ask her the make of the pattern

Did you go to joanns, or fabric bonanza, they have tons of patterns there. Look through the books they have. That should be fairly easy and inexpensive.

I borrowed my friend's cape (we both got married in January- a year apart)... I NEVER used it. Because I got married at the hall, my exposure to the elements was limited- I went from my house to the limo (2 seconds practically) and from the limo to the hall- and that was it- and I was SO nervous- I was oblivious to everything.
