Re: Winter Coat's
I get a new one almost every year. I bought a cute pink one from Express a few weeks ago! I can't wait until it's cold enough to wear it.

Re: Winter Coat's
If I can afford to, I get one every year. Because my style is changing all the time. But if I have a nice quality coat and there's nothing wrong with it and I still like it, I won't get a new one. I want a new fall jacket though - I want to get a trench type of coat that comes just above my knees

Re: Winter Coat's
No way. Not with the weight I'm at!
I have 2 winter wool ones - one for day and one for dressy.
I also have two leather coats - one is more fallish and one is for winter with detachable lining.
I wouldn't buy one every year anyway. Too expensive. The dressy wool one I've had for a few years (more than 5 at least) and it still looks good. I only wear it to dinners or holidays so that will stay awhile longer. The day coat...3 years old....love it....velvet cuffs and hood....I'll keep it for as long as I can. And the leathers too.

Attica - I LOVE THAT PINK COAT....who makes that?
I usually do get a new coat every year, but last year I bought a Donna Karan black label cashmere coat that cost me alot so, I don't know if I can justify another one this year....not with paying for the wedding and all.....
but that pink coat is really lovely.....hmmm......

Re: Winter Coat's
LOVE that pink coat!
I haven't bought myself a winter coat in years...my dad usually buys me one for my birthday. We go to Nordstrom's or Bloomie's, then out to lunch - make a day of it.

Re: Winter Coat's
The pink coat is by Searle - they sell it at Saks for $695 - - why are all the coats I like so expensive??

This is a great thread!! I am going skiing in Austria in January and I need to find an adorable, really warm coat!! I am almost as bad with coats as I am with shoes!

Re: Winter Coat's
Mistyeyed is that J. Crew? I just saw that coat in the catalog. Very nice!!
I usually get a new coat every OTHER year, but last year I got 3 new ones. One was an LLBean Parka that FH bought me, one was a Lands' End Squall that replaced the first one that didn't wear well (the lining got all pilly) and one was a J Crew wool car coat that replaced the J Crew peacoat that had a threadbare lining after one season.
I love stores with unconditional guarantees because I am not afraid to use them when something went wrong.
Last year alone, I returned 4 jackets and got three back and the money for the other one!!

Re: Winter Coats
I desperately need a coat this winter. I just bought one in Zara but it's not going to be warm enough for the snow/below zero weather!
