Re: Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall?

I chose June 2nd because it's my favorite month and I like the weather- and we want an outdoor ceremony. We chose early June because April and May this year were uncharacteristically cool and with all the weather craziness we've been having, who knows? I wanted early June because my birthday is in late June and even a little later you run into families and teachers having end-of-school year events. May also tends to have communions and confirmations. April is wonky weather and FULL of religious holidays and spring break. July and August are hot. September is also a really nice month, but families tend to be a little uptight because of the stress of back to school. We also considered travel prices since we have a lot of out of town guests.

I think all the seasons are nice. The down side of summer is April- October tends to be the priciest. In the winter you can get GREAT pricing and do beautiful jewel tones like sapphire blue, ruby and garnet red, and emerald green. You can play off the snow and do decor with crystals and branches and fun things with candles and lighting. You can incorporate fur or faux fur wraps and other fun things! You can choose a venue with several fireplaces and ask them to light them (check out the Milleridge Inn Cottage for this). However, you deal with inclement weather, potential trouble with flights for out of town guests and potential road issues, which might mean last minute no-show guests. If you do a winter wedding, definitely make sure you have wedding insurance, and see if your vendors and venue will allow a back up date in case of a blizzard. If they will, get it in writing.

You can do amazing things in the fall utilizing fall colors like amber, orange and red. You can utilize berries and pumpkins in your decor, as well as hay bales, jack-o-lanterns, paper bag luminaries, etc. You can also tune into fall cuisine like apple cider, pumpkin pie and bread, and butternut squash.

Spring has endless beautful flowers everywhere in season and you can work the pastel look.

Summer is still my favorite, but every season has something to offer!

Re: Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall?

Spring is my favorite season, and we picked May because it's comfortable weather and doesn't rain as much as April.

Re: Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall?

I'm getting married in the Fall. I love the summer the most, but I just think that the Fall is such a beautiful time of year to get married .. I love the Fall colors. We originally wanted October, but after going to RHs and seeing the price drop off from October to November, we figured .. Eehh what's a couple of weeks?

One of the biggest reasons we love the fall is our honeymoon location. Were doing 14 days .. Fiji, Sydney, and Carins .. Our winter is their summer!!
