Winter Wedding - Need Venue Advice!

We are planning for a winter wedding in 2006, either Sunday or Saturday, in New York City. Any suggestions that fall into the $100 - $115/pp range for 120 people? The place would be for both ceremony and reception. Thanks!

Crest Hollow, has the most gorgeous decorations I have ever seen! Their prices in the winter are great! They are around the price that you are looking for.

You'll be getting married on my 1st anniversary!!

We really like the Metropolitan and the price we got is actually below you range. FM me if you want actual $$

Anyway we picked it because there are no grounds to worry about (schleping through the snow to the hall) and because of the wintery feel in there.

Hope this helps.

First off, just having your wedding in the winter (as long as you're not talking about holiday time in December) will be much easier on the wallet. On top of that, if you're willing to have the wedding on Sunday vs. Saturday, you will see even more tremendous savings.

Is the price range you gave what you're looking for with or without taxes and service charges? If you're not including tax/tip, and are going for a Sunday, I think you will have a very easy time finding a place in the city for that price range. Pretty much every place will have most Sundays free (unbooked) in the winter months, and will be willing to make huge deals with you. For example, our venue gives a 'base' quote of $225 for Saturday night or $155 for Sunday or Friday (prices don't incl. tax/tip). We had our wedding the last weekend in March and planned it realtively last-minute, so were able to do much better than the $225.

You're looking at a smaller headcount, so that would factor into the pp price as well, but then again, you'd probably be looking for a smaller venue. If you're willing to look at January or February on a Sunday, I would think that a lot of nice places should be able come close to or within your price range.

Good luck!

When I was looking, it seemed that most Manhattan locations didnt discount much for Saturdays in the winter. At least the places that didnt have a 150 person min (i also had about 120 guests). My wedding was more than two years ago and I didnt find much in that price range..and im sure prices have gone up.

On Sunday you can find much better deals...check out all the university clubs like Yale Club, Harvard Club, etc.. Also a place called the Downtown Mansion is a beautiful spot. And there are others ..every place has a different story on winter and sunday discounts.

If you are willing to go to Long Island, you can get a lot more in that price range.

75 % of our guest are OOT so Long Island is a last resort. I just feel bad asking them to fly out all the way over here and not being able to fully enjoy the city. Thanks for the NYC suggestions, I will look into those. Keep em coming please!

Check out www.weddingsitesandservices.com You can check out halls in Manhattan and it will give you at least a base idea of price and menu.

Try Water's Edge in Long Island City- You actually have a beautiful view of the city and they have a ferry that picks the guests up from the city
