Due to budget constraints we decided to go with a winter wedding. I'd love to hear from brides who have had winter weddings, especially any Giorgio's brides. What did you do for photos? Were you able to go outside at all? (I'm having a late dec wedding). Did you try to get photos at the RH? Any ideas about color too would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Re: winter weddings
Hi....A winter wedding is sooooo beautiful.. I just got married 2 weeks ago and I wouldnt have done thing different. I got married on a Sat night and had everything I wanted. I didnt have to cut anywhere from my budget and if I would have gotten married any other time I would not have been able to afford my wedding.
I took pics outside at the Garden city gazebo and outside of my hall. Yes it was cold (it was like 35 degrees out that day) but I bought a little fur shawl and I was warm. I bought my bridal party fur wraps also and even though they didnt use them- they could have.
I did a snowflake theme. So I bought a lot of things at the after christmas sales. A lot of winter girls do the blue and silver colors and I think it looks nice but I didnt more of reds, golds, and oranges. The girls had wine colored dresses and they carried like orangy-reddish boq's.
Fm me if you have any more questions.

Re: winter weddings
I've seen some really cute things...from x-mas themed items with ornaments(for placecards) to snowflakes hanging from branchy centerpieces. You can probably find so much if you do a google search.

Re: winter weddings
I am doing Giorgio's next January! If it's not too cold out we plan on sucking it up and taking some pictures outside! They have some nice places in the lobby, etc. to take pictures inside also. For my colors we're thinking either like a dark steel grey, or midnight blue wtih some silver in some of the centerpieces, etc. Unless you want a christmasy theme, you should probably steer away from green and reds! So exciting!

Re: winter weddings
I got married the day after Christmas. My color were ice blue and Platinum. Having a winter wedding is great. You can get some amazing deals from vendors and you can have some much fun with a winter theme. We kind of did a winter wonderland theme. We took our pictures inside because it was raining if it wasn't raining we would have taken some outside.
any other questions feel free to FM

I'm having one the day after you! We are gonna do some pics outside but not too many. We are doing them b4 the ceremony for a few reasons. My colors are ice blue and silver. I'm also throwing in some navy. I'm calling my theme 'ice'.

Re: winter weddings
Hi girls, thanks for all the responses. I just booked the hall and have been feeling a little blue about a winter wedding. elp6421 I really like your color choice, not sure I would have thought of pearlized silver and antique gold, those two with another bright color sound really pretty. I was hoping to take some pics outside but I just looked up the sunset time, and its really early so not sure about that. That's something that I actually didn't think of when booking the hall, there are so many details to pay attention to! Thanks for all the suggestions, feeling better already!

Re: winter weddings
I got married on a VERY cold day in December, and we still took outside pictures, and you would never know from looking at the pictures
I won't lie.... Nov 6th was my wedding and we did a 3 pm church.... and by the time we were leaving the sun was really going down. we did get some great shots outside the church with a great sky... but if we didn't take those pics right then and there I'd probably have none outside. Unless I did an earlier wedding. The daylight timing was just one thing I didn't think about.
I did royal blue, white, and silver. Here's a link to some pics.
I got married in early Jan....I did a snowflake theme as well. I didnt get a really cold say but I did get lots of rain for a while in the AM. I was going to take a few pics outside of the hall but there were puddles so I didnt want the girls and my dress to be soaked all night so I just last min decided to take indoor pics at our hotel. I couldnt really find many indoor places and the 1 or 2 I did they wanted way to much $$ for a 1.5 hrs! So I on purpose got a nice hotel that would allow pics there (for free) so we did that and also got some shots at the Watermill when we got there.
