When you loose the Blood Clot where the tooth was - therefore the inside of where the root used to be is now open to the 'elements'.....It hurts like Crazy!!!!!!

I had a Tooth Abnormality (one was growing on top of the other) so I was bound to get it no matter what I did - I followed all the rules and still got it - Dentist said the odds were against me....

Did you go back to the dentist who did the surgery? Cause i jsut had mine done and they said to go back if that happened and that they could do something to relieve the pain.

Re: Wisdom teeth - Dry Socket!!
Yes I did...They put little gauze in it with 'Oil of Cloves' on it - It helps but only lasts a short time - I am going again tomorrow - I can't go today to do it....

Sorry to hear this. My FH had one and he was miserable. He had to go back to the dentist daily to have it cleaned and repacked. they gave him vicodin becauase the pain was so unbearable.

Oh yes, been there and done that. NOT FUN at all. I had to go back to the dentist a few days in a row so they could pack it (I might be saying it wrong). It was perfectly fine after that.
Feel better...I feel your pain!!!

Oh I've had a few teeth pulled by never got dry sockets. I feel awful for you, call the doc and ask for pain meds.
