Wisdom tooth

Wisdom tooth

I'm having my wisdom tooth extracted next Thursday. My new dentist said I should get both removed at the same time, and my sister-in-law said I'm lucky to have it taken out now than have this problem around my big day. Should I go for both or just the affected one?

I was in pain at one point and didn't get it done and I am fine now. I forgot which one was easier to take out the top or the bottom. The dentist said they would only take out the ones that bother me. It's really up to you and the dentist.

I got both my top removed at the same time. Only one was bothering me at the time, but I figured I would get 2 out of the 4 removed. It wasn't bad at all. I didn't swell and I didn't need any of the pain meds after the teeth were out! Both teeth were impacted so I don't understand how I did have any pain.

I would say go for it. Get them both done that way you don't have to worry about your wisdom teeth hurting you when it's closer to the wedding.

Re: Wisdom tooth

I got all four wisdom teeth cut out before they were able to grow in (the x-rays showed that they would have grown into my teeth had I waited). I had two at a time taken out..did one side and then the other a year later. I'd say it's better to just get it over with and if you need two out, then just get them both out the same time.

I did all 4 at once, went into surgery. So glad I did it that way!

I got both my top and bottom on my right side at the same time......They did not have to do it surgically, They were just able to pull them.......it wasn't bad at all. I was in a little pain but I actually drove home myself from the appointment.

Definitely take them at the same time, especially if they are erupted! I had all four of mine at once and 3 of the 4 were impacted. I had dry socket (super painful) in two of the holes, and couldn't eat solid food for about 2 weeks...it was certainly not fun but I am glad I got them out and don't have to ever think about it again.... although it would have been nice to have it done a few months before the wedding... the liquid diet helped me lose some weight LOL.

When FH got his out, they were fully erupted and he acted like such a baby but then he ate a giant hamburger the next night so it seems like it wasn't a big deal lol.

get 2 done at once. I had all 4 at once and dont regret it at all. They say once you have 1, you will need another and another.

Re: Wisdom tooth

Im having all four of my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning surgically. They've all erupted and two are partially impacted and two are fully impacted. Im super scared I've never been completely put out or had any other surgery. I know how you're feeling. I'll let you know how mine goes. I think that getting them out at once is probably the best way to go. Wish me luck, and good luck with yours!!

Re: Wisdom tooth

Awwww good luck tomorrow! please let me know how it goes! I have my surgery scheduled for next Thurs, and have been taking Exedrin for the pain in lieu of the Vicodin prescriptiom the dentist gave me. none of my teeth have ruptured, it's just the bottom left one that is parially covered by an inflamed gum. The pain is horrendous!
