Re: Wish bowl....
i've heard of some people doing it at their wedding....and the guests wound up not understanding the purpose of it and they only got a handful. guess it depends on how it's done for it to be successful

I guest this is why you need someone their to monitor the guests and tell them what to do.

Re: Wish bowl....
I dont think I am doing it since I will have a sign in board plus a guest book. I know I would be mad signing all these damn things.

well they kind of did the bowls as centerpieces on the table...with a little note that said something (in a more poetic way) like, 'leave a wish or thought for the B&G with these notes' and for some reason, people still didn't do it. i dunno why.
i guess if you have someone standing all night by a big bowl it would work, but might seem a little odd to some. i guess you could consider it kind of like a guest book? whatever works for ya, if you like the idea, go for it.

Re: Wish bowl....
Here is a pic. Guests write on little cards with well wishes for the couple and place in a bowl.
ETA: I changed my answer from yes to know...I figure that since I'm trying to keep to a budget..this is a good thing to just not do.

Well, its normal not to hear of alot of ideas pertaining to a wedding these days. Typically when you get engaged, and your think of your wedding, you think of the basics. These things like petal cones, cry packs, wish bowls, and card boxes are things that people have come up w/. You know like a unique idea that has been passed on from seeing it at current weddings. Anyway, I think there great ideas if you have the time, and patience. I will try most of them though including the wish bowl. Here's one of my board members wish bowl. She got all of her supplies form Walmart I believe. I love the little paper bag looking covers
Oooooh this is nice..... maybe I will make my own wish bowl!!!

Maybe you could put a poem or something next to it explaining what it is
