We are going to put an offer on a house today!!!
We both love this house so we will be sad if we dont get it but...we figure if we dont...it wasnt meant to be!

UPDATE:

ok, so yesterday we were told my the real estate that the owner accepted our offer!!!! So we were all excited and met the real estate agent to fill out the official binder....so FH and the agent kept going back and forth with times and negotiations....it works out that we were meeting her at 10pm
( yes...10pm...after I worked two jobs and had been up since 5:30am....).

She tells us congratulations, you have the house, and we have to fill out some papers...

FH brother is a mortgage broker so we decided to call him up to make sure all the paper work was cool and that we werent signing our lives away....this is were it gets crazy!!

she gets on the phone and starts talking rudely to FH brother telling him he doesnt know what he is doing ( FBIL has been in the business for almost 10yrs) and even had the nerve to ask me if he has ever sold a hose before!!

after hours of talking ( we were there until 1:00am) we sign the papers....( bad idea)

cut to today...

FH calls the agent to tell her we wanted to switch lawyers and to hold off sending the info to the original lawyer. She said no probelm.

Then, at 2:30 she calls FH and tells him that the owners are now considering the other offer!

she then states that if we go up in price another 5000 bucks, we will def have it.

FH flipped his S**t!!!! So he gets into it with her about they way she was talking to him and his bro and the fact we had gone foward. Basically, FH tells her to stop contacting him and that we dont want the house anymore even if it was $1000 because of her lack of professionalism!

never, ever, EVER! would I ever deal with Robert Grant Real Estate in Lake Grove. ( even if it was my dream house). We are reporting them to the better business bureau.

Oh no!!!!!!! I'm so sorry to hear this. I know this may not be the thing you want to hear, but FH's parents told us that when we start seriously looking we will have our heart broken too. I promise I won't use that agency, but you will find a better house than that one.

heythere.. i'm sorry to hear bout the way that turned out.. but in agreement with the poster right above me.. i purchased my home when i was 25 but it was NOT easy and i DEF had my heart broken. more than once.. lol. but as it turns out those houses weren't for me.. and when i found my home it sang my name.. and i had minimal drama getting into it and even less since i've been in it.. keep ur head up.. u will find u'r home!!

and as a sidenote.. u and fh were def right to get na outside mortgage broker.. i recommend that to any and EVERYONE to NOT use the mortgage broker 'associated' with the realtor.. there is an absolute conflict of interest there.. particularly realtors who are mortgage brokers also.. humph.. u can sell me a house AND a mortgage? and u're more concerend with me getting the best possible rate and program more so than u are on closing as soon as possible so u can get TWO commissions???? dont' think so.
