This may be a silly question, but I have seen girls talk on here about a wish jar or something like that. What is it exactly and where does it go?

A wish bowl is what you can use in addition or as a substitution for a guestbook.

The guests write a little comment/wish for the couple.

exactly, and I have seen them most of the times on the greeting tables w/ the placecards

I'm using a huge brandy glass that I found at walmart - it was $4.99!
