I have heard some of you mention a wishing well at showers. I never really thought to ask what it is. I have never heard of it before and was invited to a shower and on the invite it said there will be a wishing well. FH says it is a Long Island tradition- but wasn't able to explain what it is. If you ladies could fill me in that would be greatly appreciated!!!

usually a wishing well is a 'well' (can be made out of garbage can , laundry basket, or a well you rent at stores) that you fill with little knick knacks for the bride & groom. like toilet paper, small gadgets, laundry detergent, etc. just small stuff around the house that can add up when you are just starting out!

really? Haha I actually asked FH and i should bring a bag of pennies- i thought maybe everyone made a wish for the bride and threw them in or something.

Thank you! I would have looked like a fool if I brought pennies! I just thought it was a game and i was thinking how cute it is! You know- go around and everyone makes a wish for the bride and groom and throws in a penny. Hahaha

Why don't you do that?? Get a basket and bring a bag of pennies and go around and do that!!!! That would be so unique!!!
