how much should a gift for the wishing well be

They are just little knick knacks so really no more than $5-10 total, if that. You aren't even supposed to wrap them or put a tag on them, but I do haha.

just a few dollars (maybe around $10-is). You could get a gadget from the registry or luggage tags or throw in household items like aluminum foil or cleaning solutions

Usually the lower priced items on the registry end up being bought for a wishing well. For my friend's shower, I bought her a box of Keurig hot chocolates, and her meat thermometer.
