With a red theme.

Hi all...I am having a Red/Ivory theme...I am looking for advice from people who have had or are having a similar theme..i am wondering what color table linens did you do?? i was just thinking to do all ivory but I wanted the red to be incorporated somewhere..the napkins maybe??...i also might do chair covers all in ivory as well...any insight is very appreciated, and if anyone has pics that would be great...thank you in advance...

My dres is ivory but one of our colors is red. We are also having bright pink and orange, so our table linens are pink and napkins are red. Those are easy for you to do. if you do chair covers in ivory, tie a red sash around the middle or do it ivory and dangle red flowers and ribbons for soem visual interest. If you like roses, do solid ivory cake and then deocrate it with red roses...there is a pic somewhere. will try to find it.

This is not the one but its one idea. I'll keep looking.

Something like this in an ovpry paper colored box with some design like damask would be beautiful.

I am wearing red shoes beneath my dress, and looking for ruby and pearl earrings for the big day to bring the color up to my face. Also wearing a red garter and FH is wearing red doc martens with his very traditional tux and a gerber in his lapel.

The idea is to incorporate funky flashes of color in ways that are fun and quirky, not garish.

We're doing red, ivory and gold and our table linens were going to be ivory with gold candelabra centerpieces and red rose petals.

What color is your dress and what color will the CP's be? Reason I ask, if you are wearing Ivory, def. Ivory linens and Red Napkins.

Re: With a red theme.

My wedding was red and ivory as well.

Our table linens, napkins and chair covers were ivory and our CP's were red and ivory flowers with some Christmas greens (we had a Christmas wedding). Our favors were wrapped in ivory with a red ribbon around them. I wore an ivory dress, ivory veil, ivory shoes, and an ivory pearl bracelet and DH wore an ivory vest and tie. My flowers were red roses with ivory flowers mixed in (you can see in my album). My girls wore red dresses with ivory roses and red berries (white roses but they looked ivory). We had an ivory aisle runner with red rose petals down the 2 sides of the runner. Our Church pews had ivory bows with 3 red roses and Christmas greens attached to them; and we had 2 alter piece with red, ivory and Christmas greens in them. Our place card table had red rose petals on the table. We had a martini ice piece and our florist made 2 red, ivory and Christmas greens flower arrangements in a large martini glass to go next to the ice piece in the cocktail hour and them my catering hall moved them up to the reception room and put them on the bars for our reception. Or invitations were ivory paper with red writing and the envelope liner was in red as well. I bought the girls ivory wraps to use if they got cold and a necklace and earring set with clear and red crystals.

I can't think of anything else right now but we definitely had a lot of red and ivory at our wedding and I thought the colors looked really beautiful!

Edited to add something

I'm doing ivory table linens with red centerpieces. We're keeping the white napkins to save $$$ but we're putting little red roses on each napkin. It's only costing .25 a place setting and I think it ties the whole look together. HTH

my theme is all shades of reds - mostly wine, bordeaux, maroon, darker shades with white and black accents.
i am also debating how to do my linens. my CP's will be heavy in red so i dont want the clothes to be red too. ill prob do red napkins and either red chair covers with a white sash or white covers with a red sash. i also might do red table runners but im not leaning towards it.

I'm doing red also. I'm doing ivory tableclothes, but red napkins...I like that little pop of color. I'd do more red, but my reception room is kind of dark, so I wanted to have as much ivory as possible to lighten up the room. But if your room is big and light, you could do red chair sashes as well!
