i would definitely get one...the day goes by faster than you can imagine, and you'll feel like you miss so much that you'll want the video to look back on and basically relive the day. i didn't remember a thing the best man said in his speech until i watched the DVD, and its see neat to see our faces as we were taking our vowels, and hear what the minister was saying ( because you don't hear a thing that day- LOL) you don't have to pay a ton, you could even ask a friend or something- we had my best friends dad do ours for us.... he has a great digital camcorder... i felt bad asking a ' guest' to do it, but honestly, you have to know this guy- he LIVES for this kind of stuff, and hes basically an adult with ADD- LOL- i think he would have been bored if he didn't have the video to do. he came to the rehearsal to figure out the best place to stand, etc..... and he put it all on DVDs for us, too, with scene selection and everything! and i'm just so glad that we had somebody video it for us, its so fun to relive the day whenever we want to

I have heard brides that missed so many things, but then they see the video and find out what was going on. Then they actually see the faces of people dancing and enjoying themselves.

I say get the video, eventhough it may be one of those things that you watch once and leave on shelf, it is nice knowing you have one. Plus maybe on your 20th ann. you may want to watch it again.

Re: with one week do you think i should??????
dh's aunt broke her knee 2 days before our wedding! she was crushed, not so much about her knee, but rather about not being able to come to the wedding. although it wasn't the same thing, watching the video meant a lot to her. so yes, you never know. and on a sadder note, my stepmother insisted they get a video (she and my dad). two weeks after their wedding, her very good friend passed away. she is so greatful to have her friend alive on her video and the raw footage. so yes, get a video. it doens't have to be expensive but it will be somehting you regret if you don't.
I would DEFAINATEY get one! Better to have it just to have it then to regret not having it. Take a look at Timeless Treasures...they are VERY reasonably priced in comparision to ones I looked and the I love the work they do

At least have someone tape the ceremony and reception. Even if it is a family member. My sister didn't have a professional video, but a friend of the family taped alot. It is so fun to watch. Everyone looks so different, and alot of people on the video have passed away, and it is nice to look back. It is not the same as pictures.
If you can afford proffesional, book it!

I say get the video! After the day is over, & you both are settled in after the honeymoon, it's so cool to 're-live' the day. (Without all the stress!)
Just think of it this way.....Once the day is over, you can never get it back! Wouldn't you want to have the option of going back in time & seeing everything as it happened? Also, the videographers get footage of things that you're not even around for. Like, your bridesmaids walking down the aisle. After all the planning of BM dresses, the style, color, flowers, you won't even get to see the finished product all put together because you will be behind the doors waiting with your dad. I think it's well worth every penny! Let me know what you decide!

absolutely get a video!!! at first we weren't going too but then i read all the brides on here who said they regretted NOT getting a video..and some brides who said their kids love watching the video and that sold it for me...plus the fact that although picture are great after awhile you won't remember the day as well as you used too and the video helps

Definitely!! You'll want to not only remember that day but capture all that you did NOT see or may not even remember!
