What about using a church in Brooklyn and then having your reception at your hall?

Re: woe is me!!
You can still get married in a catholic church as long as you're catholic. My FH isn't catholic and we're getting married in a catholic church. You just need to get permission from the diocese.

Re: woe is me!!
I totally feel your pain!!! I am from out of state and my fh isn't a member at any church...I sooo desperately want to get married at this cute little lutheran church in Sayville but they are totally being weird about it!!! I have to become a member and take a faith renewal class(which I'm totally fine with) but they don't know when the next class will be!!! I'm a huge planner and just want to get this booked! Also, they asked where I live and I get the feeling that because I'm so far away from Sayville they won't consider me...is that the way membership works at churches???

Re: woe is me!!
We got married at Regina Pacis in Brooklyn and had our reception on LI. neither my DH or I are parishioners of that particular church. Call them and see, as long as one of you are catholic, you should be fine.

Re: woe is me!!
Try having a your current church write a letter. A coworker of mine was having a hard time having a church in upstate marry her, but she had her current church write a letter to the church she wanted.
I'm in Manhattan and wedding in LI, and i also didnt want to do with getting married in Manhattan then having a party in LI... so im skipping the church, it was a very HARD choice for me.but it works out better.
