Woe is Me....Vent...sorry

I know I mentioned this a few days ago, but my no go list is getting bigger & bigger & I'm really upset. This is particularly for my bachelorette party. MOH sent out an EVITE last week (right after shower invites) & to date we have 6 no go's (out of 15) & 2 yes's (me & MOH). People are saying they'll be out of town & one of my closest friends is preggos & not feeling great (understandable) & another friend has camping w/ her son (1 weekend they go all year w/ boyscouts) & another is OOT on business, but part of me feels like I've been there for everyone else, going to showers/bdays/their kids stuff & now its my turn & everyone has other things to do. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself & upset b/c I had a HORRIBLE b-party for my first marriage (FH's sister was 19 & we mostly drove around all night looking for places she could get into & arguing). I was REALLY looking forward to this.

Then MOH emails me yesterday & says would you be okay if you & I & the smaller group just go to dinner locally.

It just really upset me.

Not sure what to do.....change date of b-party (MOH has her cc down for at least 8 peeps to go & I don't want her to lose her $), but then if peeps still can't go I'll only feel worse----just bag the whole idea or just say the hell w/ it & just go to dinner w/ MOH & whoever else RSVP's & be upset.

Guess I just need some hugs, feeling really down, esp. b/c I'm considering some job changes based upon peeps I thought were my friends.....

Aww Cin I am so sorry!! Lots going on and sounds like lots of people are cancelling. I got a lot more no responses for the wedding and was upset at so many not coming due to other things. In the end you know who will be around 10 years from now. Sorry and lots of these your way..

So sorry! I am sure it must feel a bit hurtful.

Are you open to changing the date? If nobody could come for that day, maybe they could for another day. Maybe your MOH can 'coordinate' the best date for everyone instead of pick a fixed date. That's what I did for my MOH for her bach. party last year.

Both of my sisters are married, one twice, and I have been there for everything: Weddings, showers, births of my one sister's children, graduations, the list goes on and on and on! My younger sister isn't coming to my wedding and my older sister was complaining b/c she had a craft show to do that weekend and she already paid for it! I really don't expect her to show up for more than the wedding itself! I totally feel your pain... having a woe is me moment myself!

I was going to suggest the above. It ***** MOH would lose her money, but could it be transferred to another date?

I can totally understand!!!!!!!!!!! I had two girls flake out on me for my bachorlette party the day before!!! It ended up just being me, my awesome MOH and one bridesmaid. We were in Atlantic City, and it was still so much fun.

No matter what, just enjoy yourself and celebrate that you are getting married so soon!!!!!!

I agree-my b-party was my MOH, bridesmaid and the girlfriend of my DH's friend. We went to dinner and a comedy club and had a great time. Small doesn't mean bad.

You will have a good time wherever you go I'm sure.

that stinks, I'm sorry. even though there are less people going, I'm sure you will have a great time

I understand, its rough, but enjoy celebrating with the people who can be there. It doesnt matter if its 2 people or 200 people, you will have a great time with your friends that are there

Awww. Sorry to hear this. The good news is your loved ones will be able to celebrate your wedding with you, right? I am sorry, I know it *****.

Oh Cindy sweetie...unfortunately this is the time we all find out who our true friends are....dont worry, the ones that really care will be there for you and celebrate with you!

Thank you ladies, I actually sent an email to a few of my closer friends & let them know I'm kinda bummed & 2 girls said they are going just didn't have a chance to respond & my MOH said she was able to lower the 'must go list' to 4 so we'll definitely have at least that many.

Thanks for the hugs & kind words ladies. Like some of you have said earlier & FH, in the end its all about he & I being married & being together & all the little details don't truly matter.

I'm glad MOH is still planning to stick w/ our original plans....that's what I was worried about.
