For anyone who used these hotels - any preference? I know that they are nearly adjacent and are run by the same company but is one nicer than the other? Also, I know that neither hotel has a bar - are there any nearby bars within waking distance? My wedding ends at 11 PM and I don't want to leave everyone buzzed and happy with nowhere to go to continue the party! Thanks

Re: Woodbury Best Western v. Executive Inn?
I really do not think there are any bars nearby, but if you go over by the Roosevelt Fields Mall, there are quite a few and its not that far from there.
I looked at rooms at the Best Western just a few weeks ago and they were TINY, I mean really small. And they kind of smelt funny. However, I have read great things about it so maybe it was just an off day. I would go and check them out.

you should try Four Points Sheraton in Plainview, its only like 3-4 minutes away on the LIE from the Woodbury Best Western and Executive Inn. We used that place and its great. They have a cash bar that is open until 2am, and if you intend to have it be even later you can pay for the bartender to stay until 4am. Plus, the bridal suite is nice and has a jacuzzi in it

Re: Woodbury Best Western v. Executive Inn?
Thanks all! I heard the 4 Points is beautiful but I loved the idea of literally being right down the road from the Woodlands...especially since my ceremony is in queens...my guests will be checking into the hotel in Woodbury, driving to Queens, and then driving back to the hotel to drop off their cars and meet the shuttle. I figured the closer to the reception the better, but I don't know, I'll have to check the BW out in person. Thanks again!

Re: Woodbury Best Western v. Executive Inn?
I went to both and didn't see a difference at all. I wanted the best western because I like the look of it (kinda woodsy, with a log-cabin feel on the outside) but they didn't have any king bed rooms left, so I went with the executive inn.
I heard from someone that there is a chinese - japanese rest/bar across the street from the executive inn .. i will try to get the name for you. it's kinda tucked away I think, next to the party city / jos.a.bank. heard it was a fun place (this girl, a poster on here, said she went there after a wedding because they were all staying at the exec inn).
and roosevelt field is at least 30 mins from the woodbury hotels you mentioned - not far if you are not drinking, but i wouldn't suggest going over there. you would be better off taking cabs into huntington (about a 10min ride from the executive inn) - there are TONS of bars there.

Re: Woodbury Best Western v. Executive Inn?
I am also a Woodlands bride. We are using both the Executive Inn and the Inn at Fox Hollow. We are having a large wedding with a wide range of people (i.e., our friends vs. parents, $$$ vs. none!), so we wanted to give options. IMO - the executive inn staff were friendly, rooms were cleaner and bigger. Both offer shuttle service, and if you would like a hotel that is slightly further away, most will offer shuttle service. I know some people like to drive themselves, but at least they have the option.
You could also have an after party at the Woodlands. If you would like to have it where you will be sleeping that night, I would ask the Fox Hollow - they have rooms they rent out cater. That's where we are having our morning after brunch.
HTH!

Re: Woodbury Best Western v. Executive Inn?
I used the Executive inn because they do the free shuttle and they coordinated a day after breakfast in their conference room. There were a few mishaps with them (the event coordinator works for both hotels the best w and executive) so she's a little hard to contact, but essentially got the job done. the bridal suite was nice, duplex with microwave and fridge. FM for more details about the mishaps tho.

i agree. It's actually really nice. The suites are HUGE and reasonably priced. To keep the bar open til 4am is only $150, and if there is another party there that wants it open they split the cost.
My friends stayed at the Executive and were not happy. I heard they found some interesting things that were left behind in the room.... We wanted a hotel, not a motel so we went with the Four Points.

She heard that from me!!! It was Nisan Sushi diagonally across from the Exec Inn. in the shopping center. We went to a wedding in late June at CHCC and showed up at Nisan at about 12:30 am, and they stayed open for us. THere were about 15 of us and we had a blast. They stayed open till about 3:15 AM!!!
The drink prices were a bit pricey, but we did have a great time. They bathrooms are VERY HGTVish!!!
