So I called the Woodbury Country Club to try and make an appointment to see it next weekend. And they told me they are not booking any 2009 dates. It just doesn't make sense. Anyone else get this response from them?

My mom thinks maybe they are closing?? I don't know of any other place that won't book for 2009...and I have looked at lots of places.

same here, I called almost a dozen places today and they were willing to talk about any day in 2009 I wanted..Maybe they are closing who knows...thought they were doing well though

That is very strange. They are very busy...doesn't make sense. Trying calling and ask to talk to Andrew. He was very nice when we looked there.

When I was looking for a RH one of the BM told me that WCC was closing I thought was lying just trying to prevent me from going I guess not.

That is strange. I went there to look back in August and they were doing some touch up work to the place -- painting, laying new carpet -- nothing major but not work you would do if they were closing.
maybe they are being bought?

I was supposed to have gone to WCC last night to meet with Dominick and choose our menu but with the storm I rescheduled for next Thursday.
I will update board after my meeting, unless someone else does it before me. I know a few girls wrote FM'ed me, I've already told you same.

I was there this past week. They are actually doing renovations starting July '09 so they are not booking any weddings after July '09 (I'm not sure how long they expect the renovations to last--I didn't ask.

NOT CLOSING. They aren't booking now because they're anticipating construction going on near their property and don't want to have noise ruining any affairs. Tentative date for construction to begin is July 09. BTW -loved this place, Bob is great! food tasting superb! Can't wait to have wedding there. -mother-of-bride

I just booked the Woodbury CC for my July 08 wedding. They are not closing, they are doing major renovations in '09 and do not want to book weddings while there is construction going on.
We absolutely love the hall, and the outdoor ceremony area on the pond is just what we were looking for. We had a food tasting last night and the food and the service could not have been better. In particular, Bob was so wonderful in answering ALL the questions from ALL the family members. He is so accommodating to our needs. I love the fact that he is my coordinator from start to finish! He was the one who gave us the tour, then did the food tasting, we booked with him, we will meet with him to finalize menu and details, and he will be there the day of the wedding to make sure everything goes off as planned. I feel so comfortable knowing that he's there for us! We are SO HAPPY! Girls, go to Woodbury CC, and ask for BOB!
On Sunday 11/11 (the day after my wedding) my parents took a cab from the Hilton to the LIRR station, and the cab driver said that WCC is DEFINITELY going out of business at the end of '09!!! He said that condos are going up and our beautiful hall is getting torn down....!! What's going on here?!?! Who's telling the truth??!

Just curious, how come you had your tasting already? Did you request having it early? We booked with bob too and he said we'd do a tasting 2 months before our wedding.
