woodbury country club review
i was at a wedding this weekend at woodbury country club, so i decided to put together my thoughts, since i have not seen much interest in this place. for starters they have mutiple weddings going on during the course of the day, which is fine but they don't have enough room to accommodate all the brides. the bride, bridesmaids, & brides family all come from brooklyn so we were nervous about the traffic situation so we arrived there at 4:00, & her ceremony was to start at 6:00. the bridal suite was occupied so the brides & 9 bridesmaid (3 of whom are over 5 months pregnant) were put into a bathroom to get ready. granted it was a large bathroom, it was still a bathroom. when the groom & ushers arrived all the ushers added there stuff to the same bathroom (there were 12 of them). her photographer was there to take pictures & in the middle of the pictures we were all ushered into a room because another bride was arriving & we were told the brides can not see each other. this room was where her cocktail hour was going to be so that meant, the entire bridal party & the bride & grooms family was all standing in this room as they were trying to set it up. her husband works for the volunteer fire dept & his boss sent over the fire truck for them to take pictures on. the hall (who knew the truck was coming) was very unaccomidating & made the bride & groom walk all the way across the parking lot to take the pictures. when the ceremony began at 6:30, (30 minutes late), the band & florist were told they were not allowed to set up until 7:30, so they had to sit in the parking lot for an hour. once the cocktail hour began, the room was too small for her guests & the food was not refilled regularly. there were not enough dishes & forks & no where near enough seating. the food at the cocktail hour was definitely sub par. then we were finally allowed to use the bridalsuite which was way to small for the 21 person bridal party + the bride & groom. then my mom had a horrible allergic reaction to something she eat & needed benadryl & when we asked the matrade she looked at us like we were stupid & responded with, 'why would i have that'. the 1st course was fruit served with coconut (way too much coconut), the next course was a salad, which i loved (i ate mine, FH's, & an extra one that was at my table), the dinner was a choice of salmon, chicken, & london broil. the salmon & chicken were great but FH had the london broil (& being the cook in the relationship), actually refused to eat it. the cake was so bad that when the groom fed the bride she made the worst face in the world & people refused to eat it. the venetian hour, was really good but the same problem, they just didn't have enough food for everyone. luckily the band was great & kept everyone dancing the entire night. & the worst part was that the AC was on super high so all of the women had there guys jackets on. also the matrade is going to end up being in all of her pictures, because the ones my sister took she is in every single one of. luckily for me i learned so many things after going to this wedding.
