Woodbury hotels

My wedding is at Crest Hollow Country Club next July. The majority of my family is coming from NJ. I have a pretty extensive list of hotels in the area, but can anyone recommend or comment on what they've seen. I know that there will some guests that will not want to pay high rates, so I was thinking of a holiday inn/days inn/howard johnson to book for them. thanks!

Woodbury hotels

There is a Woodbury Inn. It looks ok, its nothing fancy seems like a business hotel. Since its Woodbury, how bad can it be? I only know Jericho Tpke here (work right off it) so there might be others but thats all I know of. Its between Rte 135 and the Crest Hollow. If you need to know where exactly, tell me, I can give you the location.

Woodbury hotels

I used to work right in woodbury, and now I live in NJ.. funny huh?? anyway.. there is a hotel on jericho.. I believe it is called the Executive Inn.. It has great rates and accomdations.. we used it for work when we had visitors coming in and they needed a place to stay.. it is about 10 minutes from the crest hollow.. I was at a wedding last yr at the CH.. beautiful place, wonderful food, great service.. we were thinking of having our wedding there as well too, but we need to price it.. we are planning a 9/14/02 wedding.. but anyway.. try the Executive.. it is local, and you wont pay those 'Holiday Inn' rates

Woodbury hotels

There is an Executive Inn and a Best Western (Woodbury Inn) right on Jericho turnpike less than a mile from the Crest Hollow. We blocked rooms at the Best Western, but we have guests staying in both for this July. Both hotels have outdoor corridors and I think both received 3 diamonds from AAA. The Best Western has an outdoor pool and free continental breakfast. The other might too. Do not wait much longer before blocking rooms. Also, the blocked room and AAA cost is close to $100 per night, which is cheap for hotels on LI.

Executive Inn @ Woodbury

I am getting married at the Crest Hollow as well (8/4/02) and a few months ago, I went to see some of the hotels in the area. I chose this one because it was clean, the rooms were nice (all being updated), all had air conditioners, free continental breakfast, and it was about $100 per night. My wedding is Sunday and most people are coming from NJ, so I blocked off rooms for Fri, Sat & Sun nights. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

No word on price yet that I know of. The building is coming along nice. Actually my FSIL's boyfriend is the forman on the site (small world). It looks nice so far. Structure is all up, I think they just started the brick or whatever they are putting up. Looks nice though!!

Thanks Jenn, I would really appreciate it. I must block some rooms very soon, as I have A LOT of rooms to be blocked at this point! When I decided on Fox Hollow, I thought JR mentioned fall 2001 of opening or something! Thanks in advance! Where are you having guests stay?? Nancy

Fox Hollow Inn

I called Fox Hollow Inn a few months ago and they gave prices of over $200 per night. I am sure they will be gorgeous, but too expensive! You can call Fox Holl and ask...they will connect you to the office at Fox Hollow Inn.

Fox Hollow Inn -- Thanks everyone -- Jenn Z

I heard Fall 2001 when they started building. I don't have many people staying over that need hotels. There are just a few that are staying at the Best Western in Massapequa(close to church and day after activities) I'm waiting to hear back from my fi on the pricing; will let you know.

Jenn, Hotels will be one of the most stressful things for me. My family doesn't have a lot of money but was more willing to travel than FI's family. I just can't believe how expensive rooms are as compared to Buffalo! But then again, it shouldn't be a surprise to me!!! :)! Thanks though...take your time! :)! No rush here. It will be atleast a month before I make it to LI again anyways! Nancy

My fi works for M&T Bank and is up in Buffalo quite often. He's always comparing prices of things with is friends up there. It IS amazing how much more expensive it is here on Long Island.(The guyshe knows in Buffalo also think the people here are CRAZY for commuting an hour or more each way just to go to work in NYC) :)

lol...Have they compared earnings though?? The economy stinks up here and the actual pay is a couple of dollars less, yet, we calculated the cost of living and it is the same. I do believe that you have more opportunities in Long Island, specially in science. BUT, if you make it and earn a decent living, you can live pretty well up here. Chris is amazed at the price of houses. Like a 130 K house is pretty nice here!! Not upwards of 250 K +++++ :) I was used to driving a distance to work. I grew up south of Buffalo in the country and my family would have to drive atleast a half hour to get to a job...I drove a little over an hour at first. Traffic isn't much a problem here though! lol
