Woodlands at Woodbury - Name Cards & Menu

I already booked the Woodlands for November 2009 with Erica.. But since this summer Erica has left and I haven't met the new contact.. Does anyone know if the Woodlands provides name cards & menus? It's not written in my contract anywhere but I could've sworn I was told they would be!

Also, does anyone have an opinion on the best style of centerpieces at the Woodlands? low, high, type of flower, branches, candles, etc.

i could be wrong but I don't think they are included. I don't remember them telling me that....

Why don't you call them and see who is taking over for you now that Erika is gone (that's what I did - the woman seemed very nice though I am totally drawing a blank as to her name). I know menus and cards aren't included with mine. As for centerpieces, I honestly think go with what you like - they are oval tables so a lot of girls say tall - but I really don't like tall CPs at all - every wedding I've gone to, they may look impressive but they seem over the top to me - I like more reserved stuff and wanted low ones so I have Pedestals making a low square shape one and then they threw in square shaped votives (2 or 3 on either side) so as to fill up the length of the table. Mine is a Friday night wedding so this sounds lovely to me. If you look at reviews from other brides there, you can see brides have done both and I think they all look nice. Go with what you prefer. The florist will make it fit in nicely

Re: Woodlands at Woodbury - Name Cards & Menu

We just booked the Woodlands last night! I'm so excited, I love the place.
The woman who took Ericka’s place is Maureen. She is an absolute joy to work with.

In July we had my best friend’s bridal shower there and it was great. Prior to that I had never heard of the Woodlands. Throughout the planning process Ericka was the contact person and I immediately feel in love with her. I knew that I would be engaged soon so I had spoken to her about my options there. So when I did get engaged a few weeks ago that was the first place I called. I was so disappointed to hear that she was no longer there but let me say that after meeting with Maureen the first time I was no longer disappointed, she’s wonderful.
I did visit a few other places and always felt like I was just another bride in a wedding factory. Maureen is not like that at all! You’re going to love her!

FYI - Menu cards and name cards are not included in mine.

During the time I was there I went through 3 different people. It honestly doesnt matter I thought it would but, everything went great. They do not provide name cards and menus. You have to do that. I really think they need to contact people when the sales people leave I think its very unproffessional.

I went with high centerpieces actually I alternated between very high and hig. and candles are def must because its very dark in there and it creates a great ambiance. I have a picture of mine in my album.

Congrats!
Your album is great, everything looks so beautiful! The more I see pics of other weddings there the more I get excited.
I'm getting married there January 2010. Can you answer a few questions for me?

1. I noticed in your pics that your sweetheart table was against the doors to the outside, and the DJ was set up on the other side. It was suggested to me that the guests would be walking through those doors and the DJ would set up where your sweetheart table is. I like your way better. Did you like that set up?

2. Did you have to provide the linens for the cake table and the sweetheart table? I was told they only have white linens.

3. Did you work with Maureen?

THANKS!

Thanks! I was told for my wedding which was 150 that set up was better with the dj and sweetheart table switched. I liked it better that was since we were in front of the french doors I thought it was silly to waste that. Where the dj was it was perfect because it was like a little nook they were in.

The provided the linens for the cake table and sweetheart table. I happened to have a brown theme so it matched but, if you are having light colors I might suggest something else that matches better. The do let you pick the napkin color though.

I actually ended up working with 3 people. I was kinda mad about that but, it all worked out. Maureen was not one of them but, I heard she was good she used to work there awile back. In the end I worked with Ericka who was very good but, I think I was her last wedding and I didn't know that until after my wedding which was alittle odd.

Ask me whatever you want if you want to IM me that is good too! Congrads!

Ooo I really like how you switched your sweetheart table and dj too! The one thing FH and I weren't crazy about in terms of the setup at the Woodlands was where they told us the sweetheart table would be. I am def going to ask if we can switch as well!!!

Glad I saw your pics! Your wedding looked BEAUTIFUL:)

I am going to ask for the same set up. Not that I'll be sitting much, but when I do I want to be able to see everyone!

Thank you everyone for your replies!!

shcole08 - Your wedding looks beautiful!! Great cp's! What DJ did you end up going with? Any specific feedback on them? Also, I really love your photo's! They came out great and give such a unique perspecitive of the Woodlands! Who was your photographer?

I am thinking about going with Gray Studios since they are preferred and I love all the Gray Studio photos hanging around the mansion. Anyone have any thoughts on Gray or the specific photographers?
