Woodlands at Woodbury...HELP!

Woodlands at Woodbury...HELP!

Here's the short version....we were going to have our wedding at the North Ritz but my FH sister is prego and is due to have the baby 3 weeks before the date and won't be able to make it from NC so his mother threw a fit over it. Now I am forced to move my wedding date after months of arguing. North Ritz said we can move the date with no problems then days later called back and said we are loosing the deposit. GGRRR! My FH refuses to rebook with them so now I have the job of finding a new hall. I was looking on line and so far LOVE the Woodlands at Woodbury. We were thinking about moving it to June 2009 and I'm planning on calling them to go check the place out but does anyone know what their prices are like?

How would you lose the deposit if you just switch the date at the NRC?? Do they want another deposit to book the new date? That's nuts!

That's what I said. I would settle for them having at least kept half of the deposit. They act like they won't be able to rebook that date. Such BS.

I'm sorry! That is total BS!

Did you speak with Ida ?
I would argue the point.

Also, would it be such a travesty to have the wedding without your FSIL ?
You should not have to rearrange everything regarding your wedding just because she is giving birth. What about your other vendors ?

NRC is such a lovely place and they did a wonderful job with our wedding. I also looked at Woodlands, but they were way out of my budget.

We actually have a friend who knows the owner and they aren't budging. My FH will be there tomorrow speaking with them and most likely picking up part of our deposit. THANK GOD!

We personl don't care if his sister is there but you guys have no idea the hell his mother has given us. She threatened not to come. In which case I don't want her there with that attitude but she is his mother. whatever. My other vendors I'm not worried about cause if they charge me extra I'm just going to bill his mother for it. Enough is enough.

You are doing a very honorable thing by moving the date of your wedding to enable the sister of your FH to attend. She is his sister, she should be there. I could not imagine not attending one of my siblings weddings, or having them miss mine.

As far as NRC... well its business. If they cannot book the date for this year, then they will lose out big $. You should be able to get your deposit back if they book the date. What did your contract say about date changes? I hope your deposit wasn't too big.. but just put it behind you and plan your wedding for june of next year and all good things will come of it b/c you are doing a very special thing!

Sorry I am not sure on the prices for Woodlands- check the 2009 board- they have a list of pricing for the halls & it might be on there.

I wanted to say though, you are doing a really nice thing- and I dont mean to pry- but I hope you FMIL is helping you considering she is being so insistent on changing the date & you guys losing the deposit.

Good luck & let us know how it goes

She's not helping and that's what's driving me nuts even more.

Here's another reason why you should move the date.. babies are often late. If her due date is 3wks prior to the wedding.. then she could actually have the baby as late as 1 wk b/4 the wedding. Your FMIL would then probably want to visit (and possibly) help out with the newborn(?) You don't want that headache... and you want the focus to be on you on your wedding.. not some darn cute newborn!!

Re: Woodlands at Woodbury...HELP!

If this was the first time we have had to jump around his sister and his mother I wouldn't be this upset but it's constantly. And I'm sorry, not for nothing, you don't ruin someone's wedding with 7 months to go.
