Are there any Woodlands Brides out there? And if so, what special touch are you adding to the mansion?

Re: Woodlands Brides
I know that this is an old post and I probably shouldn't even be on this site anymore (tomorrow I will have been married for 900 days!) but I still check back sometimes to see what new Woodlands brides are doing....
So my Woodlands advice is to put as many family photos as you can throughout the Mansion. Everyone loved the fact that we had old wedding pics (from our parents and grandparents), baby pics, communion pics, on the mantle and the piano. It definitely makes the mansion seem more like a 'home'.

Re: Woodlands Brides
YAY! I am a Woodlands Bride! I was just going to decorate with lots of candleobras and pumpkins since I am having a fall wedding. Also, decorating the mantels with photographs.
these pics are what some other woodlands brides did.
i got married at the Woodlands, I just made sure to put tons of old family photos around. we put a guestbook i made on shutterfly on the piano....we also are obsessed with Billy Joel, and we had an autographed picture of him that we displayed at the Woodlands in the room near the staircase...people really seemed to like that
I also went to Wal-mart and bought a bunch of votive candles and holders and had them put out during the cocktail hour, and i bought a small tabletop candleholder that they put on the table in the room by the staircase
since we had a fall wedding, i also bought some leaves and pumpkins and the staff put those out on the piano

Yay Woodlands!
I've heard good and bad - but so far my personal experience has been wonderful!!! I've had a great time at the showcases, been given great advice about vendors, and my parents were able to negotiate a very reasonable fee (we rented the venue for both morning and evening).

Any advice on negotiating w/ the woodlands on price and offerings?
I can only speak for myself. I loved the place so much and they only had a very few selected dates for the year and for fall so, I didn't negotiate. But, I did have to take a Friday night so, I saved $$ there.
