Woohooo!!!

Our stint in Ireland is coming to an end....only 24 hours to go until our final flight home. The movers will be here in an hour and then we are off to an airport hotel for the night. I can't believe we have lived here for 18 months and now we are finally going home!!! Looking forward to being in the same time zone as all the other LIWers.

Safe flight! We'll miss you

I've been meaning to ask you actually, will Alex have dual citizenship being that he was born in Ireland?

Thank you, we are at the airport right now. Unfortunately, Ireland passed a referendum last year which requires at least one parent to have been a resident for 3 years so he won't be eligible for a EU passport. They say he could petition for one but it isn't guaranteed. I really would have liked for him to have dual citizenship but it isn't in his cards. How about you, if you have a baby in England will the baby be entitled to dual citizenship?

Yes, because Seb is a UK citizen, actually he or she would have citizenship no matter where they were born...but the plan is NOT to have a baby in England My mother would disown me

I know my mom was upset that she wasn't able to be there for the baby's birth. Your child will be lucky to be able to get dual citizenship. This way they have both passports and don't have to worry about visas and such.
