So I'm throwing a shower for my BF. To get the guests involved we have decided to do somethign where everyone will write a poem that goes alon gwith their gift. Each guest will choose a gift at random, read the poem to try and guess what is inside, and then open the gift for the bride (she does not want to be the center of attention). I am trying to think of cute poem wording in order to give directiosn as to what to do. Any ideas from you poets out there?? Thanks so much!!!

Re: Wording help...
This is really asking a lot of people IMHO! It's a very cute idea, but I think could be very, very difficult for guests.
I have a related idea that might be a little easier but more fun for people. Instead of asking guests to write a poem about their gifts, how about just asking them to list 4 words to describe the item?
Like, if it's a blender they could write:
ice teeth pulse drinks
Or you could ask them to write out three or four words in categories you pick in advance to put on their favor tag for the guessing game. Like that they have to list a color, part of the body, and place, then two other words? Sorry, I'm just brainstorming aloud here.
As far as poems go, this site has a lot of great Bridal shower poems on it:
You could modify one of those for your purpose or just add on it a line or two saying: 'Please wrap your gift and include a tag with a four-word 'clue' for what's inside. Creativity or humor a plus, but any four words will do!'
HTH!

i think ts a cute idea...i just want to say that it might take a long tim...there is a lot of presents at a bridal shower and for every person to read something it could take a while..also keep inmind some people may not want to read
buti would say if u want to do it..rather than a poem amybe have everyone say something related to the bride they could use it for
for example..when she opens the pots and pans..have the gifter say..this is for when u make ur famous macaroni
or bedding..this is for those cold nights when u and fh want to snuggle
