What was the wording of your reply card? I know reply cards are considered tacky or an etiquette no-no but clearly they are a necessary evil.
So how did you word yours?
I have two options, one is to use: The favor of a reply is requested by August 16th. M________________________ ____ Accepts with pleasure ____ Declines with Regrets
The second option is to just have 'The favor of a reply is requested by August 16th' and leave it as a blank note to fill in their own message.
THOUGHTS?????????

I used the first one. It is kind of 'idiot proof'.
'I know reply cards are considered tacky or an etiquette no-no ' Where did you hear that? I have never heard that. How else are you supposed to know who is coming or not?

This is what ours will look like. Ryan from Above and Beyond designed them.

this is the one i did, so they wrote out the names
The first one. I wouldn't leave it open ended because people might not know what to put or might not even send it back-will just call to rsvp.

Re: Wording of your REPLY card
i like the first one too....although my mom wasn't thrilled with this, this is what i did:
The favor of a reply is requested by August 16th.
M________________________ Will ____________Attend _____ number of guests
i like the whole # of guests thing so no one can sneak in any extra people...which i've seen happen at other weddings!

Re: Wording of your REPLY card
i like the first one too...i do love the idea of messages though. i almost added an extra space for people to do it but it started to get too cluttered. turns out people wrote their own messages anyway.

Re: Wording of your REPLY card
Option 1...that's what I'm doing. I'm also leaving a space for them to fill in the number of people that are coming. So if the invite is for 2 but only 1 can make it they can fill in and let me know that only 1 of them is coming.

With the exception of the design, that is what mine looks like too. I needed idiot proof. I don't have patience to try to figure out what people's little clues might be.

Emily Post. Supposedly people were always meant to either call in their RSVP or better yet write a handwritten note of acceptance. However, since most people are clueless the reply cards are really necessary these days. For formal weddings the blank card (Just the 'favor of a reply is requested' sentence on the top) is supposedly more suitable ... but I am afraid no one will know what to write ... !
