I did the wording today for the invitations and she put 'honour.' Thoughts? honor or honour?
I dont think I really like honour. Is that more formal?

We are. So should I leave it at that since it's a church?

Re: wording question
you don't NEED to put honour (vs honor) if you really hate it ... but it is suggested (for churches, that is)

Re: wording question
It's just the British spelling... but we're American, so it's totally up to you if you want it spelled with a U or not.

Re: wording question
ok thanks girls. I wasn't sure why she put it like that, but I guess that's how they write it for church weddings. I'll leave it

Re: wording question
I did mine today too and even referenced an etiquette book!!! As far as honour vs. honor they are equivalent in formality, the only difference is honour is british english, while honor is american english. As for a church ceremony, it is rec'd to have 'request the honor/honour of your presence,' instead of something like 'pleasure of your company.' I am going with honor and having a church ceremony.

i did the same. i personally like it and im also getting married at a place of worship rather than the rh but even so, if you like honor thats fine imo but make sure that if you use the word favor its not with the 'u' so the words are in agreement
