wording (w explanation) sorry, I write too much!!!
So, there were some issues with my parents about who 'can' pay for the bulk of my reception. My mother was basically playing the martyr and saying that she can't, etc... my dad had to break out the scotch the night I went to him to discuss this... (they are bitterly divorced, if you can't tell)
At any rate, when my dad and decided on a budget (mostly all him with a little bit of us, the typical FILs and almost none from my mom... so far), I mentioned that if he wanted to go over the guest list again since he was paying, we could, and that we also should go over wording on the invite since it's usually whoever is hosting is on there.
I don't want to put my dad on there and not my mom. Is there a classy way of saying that I'm their daughter without saying who's HOSTING the wedding? I just don't want to get caught in the middle of this shiit again with them. esp surrounding my wedding....

I would just say
'Mr. first name last name and Mrs or Ms. first name last name request the honour of your presence'
It shows they are divorced and not a couple, and includes them both.
