Work out ideas...

OK, so am wayyyyyy to poor to join gym, BUTT my rear needs some major work.... literally does anyone have a great exercise regimen for the butt? I'm noticing huge difference in my body from 25 till almost 28 now, it's crazy how quickly it goes and how much harder it is to keep up with...

I'm with you. I'm also 28, and the past few years, everything is so different with my body! And I have to work so much harder to lose a pound or two.

As for 'butt' workouts - Pilates is soooo good. It changed the shape of my body so much when I did it (2 years ago... I've since become really lazy... ) Most people do Pilates for their abs, but there are great exercises for your outer thighs and glutes. I have a Kathy Smith workout tape 'Pilates for a Great Lower Body' or something like that.

Also, if you have Cablevision, there's a great Free On Demand show for your butt. I've done it a bunch of times and you really feel it the next day!

Re: Work out ideas...

A few ideas:

Buy a workout video that concentrates on your target area.

OR

Run. Running targets practically every muscle in your body and will definitly firm up your behind. You can either do distance, or intervals, either one will make a difference AND keep your heart healthy.

OR

Squats and Lunges. If you pick up some inexpensive hand weights you will see even more of a difference. Do 2-3 sets of 15-20 - until you feel it burning pretty much - of each.

Whatever you do, if you mix it with light running, you'll see a significant difference.

I am 27 going on 28 and what I did two years ago to drop 30 pounds was half as less for me to drop 8lbs now. Its depressing.

Squats, Stairs (steps), back leg curls, leg press

YES! That magazine/website is great. I studied Exercise Science in college and I even follow those workouts - they have really great quick workouts on there for all fitness levels if you're pressed for time.

It's not all bad...but it definitely takes a lot more work than it ever did in my 20s and that's with eating less
