work vent

sorry ladies, just letting off some steam. so i leave for disney world next friday (woohoo!) and i asked if i could leave at 2 that day, skip my lunch, and work til 5:30 mon-thurs to 'make up' the time so i didn't have to waste vacay hours for that. well this stupid place cannot accomodate me. if i put that i worked 5 hours on friday on my electronic timesheet then i will get docked 2 hrs pay, even though the total will still be 35. so i ask, 'can't i just put all 7 hour days then?' (yes it's lying, but imo if the total comes out right who cares?) but no, i can't do that either b/c this dept also fills out a paper timesheet which only our dept head keeps track of. if they don't match up people will talk. i wanted to say, 'well, can't i just explain it to dept head?' but i didn't b/c i could tell that wasn't an option. so now i have to work 8-2:35 (b/c that five minutes puts me into the next 1/2 hour and then it's okay to lie and say you left at 3). great, that's exactly what i wanted to do on the day i leave for vacation. god i hate timesheets and time off scheduling and all the other moronic policies that companies make up.....

sorry to hear you have to deal with that. My company likes to have 'issues' like that too.
