Work Vent!!! (LONG)
I have a question...
I work for a 2 person office and basically work with the owners almost everyday. I'm not the Office Manager, but the Office Assistant. They were hiring for the Office Mgr position not too long ago. Well, I asked about me taking that position, and then they could hire someone for my position. They gave me a bunch of reasons why I couldn't do the position. Which was fine for me. Well, they went ahead and hired another person with the exact same reasons why they told me I couldn't do it? What's with that? This person doesn't even know how to use a fax machine? It's like they lied to me about why I couldn't do it? I thought I had a better relationship with them. Obviously not. Besides this problem, I have been here a year today. Well, I had my preliminary review a few weeks ago, which they said I was doing great, and I was suppose to get a raise at my year mark. I had also asked for more responsibility to get a bigger raise. Well, I actually asked for a raise at the time. They said no problem. Well, my bosses usually do something for your annual anniversary which for me it's today. You know what they do... they take the new woman out to lunch along with the only other office employee here. They left me here to answer phones! I am sooooo upset right now! Maybe they forgot I've been here a year today, but to take everyone out to lunch except me??? I feel like the biggest piece of crap right now. As soon as they left, I started crying. Now, this woman makes soooo much more money than I do, and obviously doesn't know what she's doing. Actually I make the least amount of money than anyone. There are about 30 employees here. I am so insulted. I wish I could quit. You know, I feel like my job is worthless. I don't think they would even care if I left. I'm also upset because everyone else is salary, and I'm hourly. So this new person gets to do whatever she wants and gets paid for it. If I miss 15 minutes I lose money. Also, we're moving to a new building that the owner's are having built in a few weeks, and everyone gets an office except me. I get to sit where the receptionist is. I'M NOT A RECEPTIONIST!!!![]()
I'm not going to get any privacy! I just can't take being treated like this anymore. I've been looking for another job, but there isn't anything out there. I've never had a position before that I felt so horrible about myself and my position. ![]()
I don't know what to do? Everything was going great... at least I thought!
