Working moms or mommies-to-be - maternity leave?

I'm just curious how much time most people get off for maternity leave.

I can be out for up to 12 weeks where I get some sort of pay, before taking 12 weeks FMLA without pay.
* 6 weeks Short-term disability - I believe at 70% pay
* 3 weeks vacation - full pay
* 3 weeks parental leave - full pay

Re: Working moms or mommies-to-be - maternity leave?

I get:
6 weeks maternity leave (paid)
24 vacation days (paid)
12 weeks Family Medical Leave (not paid)
I am not sure if I am going to take the 12 weeks at the end, I am not sure how I will feel about it....

ETA - its seems like mine is very similar to what you have...

2 weeks paid vacation and 4 weeks without pay.

I get 6 weeks at 60% pay and then 6 weeks of FMLA, wtih no pay of course. i am not allowed to take my vacation as an extension of maternity leave.

Re: Working moms or mommies-to-be - maternity leave?

I got 8 weeks disability pay at $170.00 a week before taxes (I had a c/s). That was all I used up my vacation time, which was only 1 weeks pay. I ended up not going back to work, but not getting paid hit us hard very early on.

Re: Working moms or mommies-to-be - maternity leave?

I get 8 weeks fully paid for the c-section and then I can add on any vacation time but I can't be out for more then 12 weeks, unless I'm willing to take unpaid leave.

I get 12 weeks total....Disability pay at 100% for 6 weeks for v-delivery or 8 weeks for c-section. Then I can add on vacation time, I have 3 weeks, and the rest is unpaid.

Re: Working moms or mommies-to-be - maternity leave?

After working in a VERY prestigious hospital for 5 years. I was fired while on disability (there reason for terminating me was I did not qualify for FMLA) needless to say I am currently suing their A*****!!!!!! So I collected 6 weeks disability at $215 a week. Then I collected unemployment for 6 months at $405 a week. I guess it was a blessing in disguise.
