Working on the HM now...UPDATED - its booked!!!!!

Working on the HM now...UPDATED - its booked!!!!!

I think we've canned the whole HAWAII idea because its sooo expensive.

We definitely want to cruise, but I traveled a LOT as a kid and Rich doesn't want to go anywhere I've been before. That rules out a lot = most of the Caribbean, all the mexican hotspots, italy, etc.

I priced out a Hawaiian island-hopper cruise, but because its a holiday, the rates are WAY up there.

I'm researching a few more cruises, but I really like a Royal Carribean itinerary right now - it leaves from Old San Juan, PR,
goes to Aruba, Curacao, St. Martin, St. Thomas, and back to San Juan.

Is anyone else cruising for a very reasonable price? I'd really love some more suggestions.

Thanks!

UPDATE: WE BOOKED!!!

I'm going on a cruise. 2200 total for 8 days. Its carnival and leaves out of NY to San Juan, St Thomas and Tortola. Mine is a holiday weekend too.

that Royal Caribbean is a good one from what i've heard. the good thing is it's 'free style' cruising. that's the best way to go. with a cruise like carnival--you have to schedule what times you're gonna eat and such and that just sux!

i know it SOUNDS expensive...but just for the helluva it...you can check out the Queen Mary 2. i know someone who went on there and it wasn't nearly as expensive as she thought it would be...and she said it was like traveling on an all-star resort thru the water! she did a similiar route like you are talking about--puerto rico...etc.

HTH!

We are going on a 7 night cruise as half of our honeymoon and it's 1500 for a balcony room...around the same time of year you would probably be going (except this year). It's on Carnival to the western caribbean.

Nice Mel!
Thanks ladies

Mel, I think you're thinking of Norwegian Cruises - they have the freestyle crusing. Royal Caribbean still has scheduled dinners.

I've been on carnival, and its just not for me.

I'm trying to stick to Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, or Norwegian...RC has the most interesting itinerary for us at the moment.

I've never been to Aruba or Curacao, but St Thomas and St Martin were 2 of my favorite vacations so far....

Rc has two dinner seatings, but there are so many other eating options on the ships, esp. the large voyager ones incl. a johnny rockets YUMMY!!!

I've been on RC twice love love love it!!!

I rec. doing some research and price comparsions and then see a TA, sometimes they are able to get you a great deal. For both cruises for both of us together Joe didnt pay more than 1600 total.

Oh good Nic, those are def the best lines. My father likes Royal and Norwegian the best-- but he said they were all so nice. He told me if we were to do a cruise-- for our HM-- to do Royal b/c it's so beautiful and classy and there is a lot to do on the boat. He also said the food and the service is TOP notch!

His fave was doing the islands and sailing OUT of NY.. if they have that available you should go for it, avoid the plane ticket cost and my dad said it is so beautiful going out of NYC-- that it is gorgeous, you would never even realize until you do it HTH!

Re: Working on the HM now...

Hey Danielle!

I went out of NY once - at the time of year of our wedding, the only cruise out of NY is to the Bahamas....we've both been there before, so that's stinky.

November is hard- its not easy to find a great itinerary!

The more I think about it, the more I like the cruise I just researched. I like that Curacao and them are below the hurricane belt, so there's really no risk of damage when we're there. (Nov is past hurricane season, but if a hurricane in sept/oct destroys the island, you know what I'm saying.)

I'm going to make some more calls, see what I can get rate-wise...

My parents are going to Aruba for the first time the first week of this November, so I'm going to wait to get their feedback before I book.

I'm so excited over this stuff!

My mom is paying for our honeymoon. She likes the idea of FH and I having 2 parts to the HM. So I;m trying to get her to fly us to the 1st place(it's a surpirise) and then we take a cruise back home. that would be the best
