My husband and I recently joined the gym to try and lose some post-wedding weight and then some. However, my problem is that every time we go for a work out, I come home feeling really bad (physically). A lot of times it doesn't set in until after I've taken a shower. I get really lethargic, headaches, nausea. The other day it actually happened during the car ride home. Anybody have any idea what's up with that? I thought exercising was supposed to make you feel good. I'm a little dissapointed but don't want to stop going. TIA!

Re: Workout Question
Are you eating enough before the workout? That would happen to me when I first joined the gym (the nausea part)... I think it was b/c I would work out hard and not have enough energy...

Re: Workout Question
you may not be hydrating yourself properly. i know if i don't drink plenty of water before i begin working out, i get a BAD headache. on the days you intend to work out, drink a lot more water than usual (throughout the day). also, remember to continue drinking while you are working out (but not too much or you'll cramp!).

Re: Workout Question
Are you working on machines...I was that way when I first started working out and realized that if I spent too much time on the tread mill it really messed with me.

Re: Workout Question
Usually I go an hour after dinner on the weekdays and after lunch on weekends so I don't think it is a problem with eating. Also, I've been drinking a lot more water than normal but maybe it isn't enough. Maybe it is the machines, I know after the treadmill I feel funny but I think that is kind of normal. Other than that, I usually do the bike or elliptical. The feeling is so strange though. Dizzy/Nauseous/Tired/Yuck!!!
Thanks for your input ladies. I'm going to try and switch it up a little with different things to see if that works (i.e. going before I eat, drinking more water, etc.) Appreciate it.
