For every person who visits this site and 'lights a candle' (no personal information required), Bristol Meyers Squibb will donate $1 to AIDS research. Like the company or not, it's still their money.
It's not at the forefront of our minds anymore, because a lot of people are living longer, fuller lives with HIV thanks to current treatment, and we've done a good job of telling people how not to get it. But it's still an epidemic in other parts of the world, and many of those affected can't afford the treatment Westerners can. There still is no cure. It takes 3 clicks - one to get to the site, one to choose location, and one to choose what your candle stands for - hope, rememberance, strength, love, or health.
We've come so far, better to not give up now.
