i know its too late to worry about this but the ceremony, which is a full mass starts at 3 so it will prob be over around 415 then will we will take some pics there. the ch starts at 730. alot of the bp has a hotel at the fox hollow. do u think that lay over is too much?

Where is the church again? Think of it this way--if the church ends at 4:15, they're probably not leaving until at LEAST 4:30, perhaps even later if they're talking to people after you leave the church. Then, they have to travel back to the inn, which adds another 30-45 minutes (depending on where the church is). People will then have time to freshen up and maybe take a nap before they start waiting in the FH lobby at 7 pm. It will work out!!!
I was a guest to a wedding with that kind of layover--the church was in Seaford, and the reception at the Swan Club. It gave me time to buy a nicer shirt and tie for DH and some more comfortable shoes for my dress after the ceremony (DH couldn't come to the ceremony because of work, so he just went to the reception with me). By the time I got home, DH got back from work, and we got ready, it was time to drive up to Roslyn Harbor for the reception. Trust me; your guests will find stuff to do!!!

Re: worried
i think your time frame is typical. i've been to several weddings that have time in between. you guys need that time to take your pictures and get from the church to the RH. Your guests will take their time to go home, get changed if they aren't dressed for the wedding, rest and get to the reception with time to spare. it sounds like a lot and some people might not be thrilled, but whatever. you need that time, so don't worry about it!

Re: worried
Mine is longer then that. I have filled it up for the BP with pictures and a boat trip.
For guests FMIL is doing cheese platters and cocktails at the hotel, I figure a lot of people will go to the church and then check in to the hotel in between.
For local guests mom is hosting something at her house and having a friend man it while they are at pictures.

I think its fine. I have been to a wedding like that before and we stopped at a diner got some coffee and talked. People will figure something out don't worry about a thing...

Its fine... Mine is actually longer...and there was nothing I could do about it. But I've been to plenty of weddings with a big gap in between.

Re: worried
thanks! the church is in hicksville, about 10-15 min from the rh. i just got nervous bc ffil made a comment saying by the time ch starts the bp will be really drunk and asked what they will be doing when they arent taking pics lol. a bunch have hotel rooms so i figured they can go back and hang out or relax ahh.
