worried about getting your period on your wedding day or honeymoon?

worried about getting your period on your wedding day or honeymoon?

I've seen a few posts recently on this topic, and I thought I would share with you all a rather nifty little product - for those who can't/won't use hormones to control when their period comes.

This won't stop you from getting your period or do anything for bloating, cramps, etc. But it WILL allow you to have bloodless sex while on your period.

They're called Instead SoftCup. They're small flexible, disposable cups (made out of silicon, I think, I'm not sure) that you insert into your vagina, and they catch the blood. They go high up enough in your vagina that you can have sex with them in, with little/no blood leakage.

They work essentially like a keeper or a divacup, except they are not reusable, and fit higher up in your body, so you can have sex with them in. (and, by the way, if you have never heard of a keeper/divacup, I highly recommend them. I will NEVER go back to pads and tampons again. I love my keeper - and it's way cheaper, better for the environment, and has no risk of toxic shock syndrome).

I'm sure you guys don't need this reminder, but do remember that these are JUST for your period, they do nothing in terms of birth control or STD prevention.

And I'd recommend practicing putting it in a few times, etc, before you have your period, and definitely before the wedding day.

ok, just thought I would share. They're a great little invention, and if I am in such a situation, I will definitely be using Instead cups for the wedding night and honeymoon.

I'm already pregnant so I don't have to worry about that!
